Paradigm Shifter can you change your name to not include a space?? the savegame is saved with _ and it doesnt work on pbemtracker until I replace the _ with space.

I will check the tracker and make sure it will accept names with spaces.

I wonder if the space in the name has anything to do with the upload problems? I was having similar issues with a private 1v1 game earlier today... Hopefully PBEMtracker gets itself sorted out, that is a great tool.

I have received some email addys, but if everyone else can please send over an email address to me, that will be great. I'd like to send out a mass email listing for when we run into technical issues like this. You can PM me your email so its not announced to the world, and I will send out the master email list just to those emails.

For now, if anyone is having issues with PBEMtracker, please PM the next on the list and try to send it along.

Thanks to everyone for your patience through this process - I'm sure we will have hiccups but we seem to be dealing with them nicely so far! We've almost caught up to where I thought wed be going into sunday night, making up for a slow saturday! Great job everyone!

The tracker is fine with a space. But civ replaces the space with an underscore.. Thats the problem

So its best to avoid spaces in the name.

I think if you have an underscore instead of a space in the Civ name, everything works.

Yes.. The savegame that civ generates for you is:
Give_me_18,_but_not_on_Earth_BC-4000_to_Paradigm_Shifter

And I had to rename it to:
Give_me_18,_but_not_on_Earth_BC-4000_to_Paradigm Shifter

Notice the replacement of the last underscore with a space.

To fix this replace the space in your ingame name with something else, and also replace it on pbemtracker. Or I will have to rename the file each time.

If it was written in C++ I could fix it for him Dunno much web programming stuff though, unfortunately.

Haha I just got this app for the purposes of this game! I can delete that if I want... But never tried until now. I'm always working on figuring new things out!

The problem is NOT the tracker.. Its CIV IV, that inserts an underscore instead of space. See my post above.

Yeah, but that would be easily fixed on the site by replacing any spaces in the leader name with underscores when checking whether a save is correct or not, if it goes off the filename.

Just as an FYI Eclipse and anyone else - Calanthian started a separate "story thread" for this game (the chronicles of 18, but not on earth)... Of course I said to put it all in this thread, but if no one minds us using 2 threads for this game, it makes sense to keep all story telling and in-character role playing in that thread and other idle chit chat, logistics, game issues, etc in this thread. I thought it was a nice approach and made sense to me, so if anyone is still paying attention... there you go!
