Give me 6 reasons why you are playing Civ6 and not Civ4?

I'm new to the series but from all I've read Civ4 is considered the best?
Give me your 6 reasons why you're not playing it.
civ 6 is a pretty good game. It's hard to compare games so distant in time, but I never liked civ 5 and I'm enjoying civ 6 a lot.

1. I've played civ 4 to death. It took a loooot of time, really I played it A LOT.
2. civ 6 is prettier
3. "unstacking cities" makes for very interesting gameplay
4. The government system also add an interesting aspect
5. I think I like the civics tree being separate
6. I play a lot of variant games and it feels like I actually have a lot to discover yet.

So, the AI was piss-poor at release but I think it's getting better, the balance still need work, specially in the techS treeS, specially toward late game (I'm not talking about the DLC civs, which are obviously a joke). Great people could be better balanced as well, there are some gaps in unit upgrades, etc, but overall it's acceptable. The AI still has a lot of trouble with 1UPT, but I'm starting to question my original dislike of the movement rules update. The interface is still inferior to civ4 in its final version (better than civ4 in its release state however), but It could be made better and I think there are some mods doing a good job of it (didn't try any myself).

Overall, I think this is a good game right now, and that the mechanics are sound, so it can definitely become a great one, if balance and the AI continue on the trend we've seen in patching. In my heart I'd say Civ 4 in its final patch ended up better than current Civ 6, but it's on the right path to become its equal (still need work).

1. 1UPT
2. Better government system
3. Unstacking cities
4. Prettier(?)
5. Civics tree
6. It will get better with time (hopefully)

1) Better Graphics
2) Tech/Culture split
3) It what my friends are playing
4) Districts
5) super pretty
6) I've moved on with my life and have started seeing other people

6 things I like about Civ IV:

1) Economic management is way more difficult as there's much more of a tradeoff between claiming land and teching than there is in Civ VI
2) Because there's no 1UPT making combat a breeze, I feel a sense of danger when the AI attacks me and a sense of accomplishment when I win a war
3) Managing big armies is much less time consuming when there are stacks
4) The best diplomacy of any game in the Civ series, in my opinion. Tech trading (for all its flaws) gives you a very strong incentive to make friends, something badly missing in Civ VI
5) The tech quotes are about a thousand times better
6) Promotions are way better (far more options and far more interesting options)

6 things I like about Civ VI:

1) Culture is useful in its own right (this is the best new feature of Civ VI)
2) Wonders look great on the map
3) Espionage is a little better though still not great
4) Customizable religions are neat (though I do not enjoy shuffling religious units around)
5) Being able to control trade routes is neat (though I wish the UI and game balancing were better here)
6) As an aspiring classicist myself I get a kick out of the archaeology minigame

So, I think Civ VI is a solid game with a bunch of neat ideas, some of which probably could have improved Civ IV. But in the core elements of gameplay--economic and military management--Civ IV wins easily. And even in terms of polish, I think Civ IV does tech quotes, music, etc. better.

1.) Started with V, really hard to go backwards, particularly with the graphics
2.) Uniqueness of Civ and Leader Abilities
3.) Hexes are personally more aesthetically pleasing and intuitive
4.) Religion system is more interesting for gameplay, feels like it actually matters
5.) Seperation of techs and civics allows for more balance between value of culture and science (still science favoring, but now less science dominating)
6.) Districts are fantastic for gameplay, (e.g., allowing things like non-coastal cities to build ships if they have water territory)

I agree with your thoughts both on Civ4 and Civ6. Hopefully with time and expansions, developers will manage to fix some of the obvious shortcomings that Civ6 still has.
