Gnb3 Pbem!!!

We can not abandon Lisbon, the portugese are willing allies and members of the British Empire. We are sworn to protect them.

The actions of France are absolutely apllaing, they captured Germanic cities, they have taken Italy including Holy Rome, they have taken most of Spain. And now they invade the home island!

If there is to be peace the French must withdraw from Spain.

The facts stated are true, however Britain should reason rather than issue these demands -
After the dismissal of the Minister or Foreign Affairs and the Governor of the Austrian Internal Secret Police, Austria's makes this last attempt to bring along a peaceful solution:

Territorial:

*Britain is to accept the status quo in Spain, as should France

*French troops shall immediatly withdraw from Britain

*The city of Plymouth shall be returned to British authority

Compensation:

*Destruction of infrastructure, defenses and loss of peasant in the attack on Plymouth should have made up for the 200 gold initially demanded

Other:

*Any re-negotiations should be made after the transcourse of six months

*For the duration of the cease of hostility a formal 'cease fire' should be signed betwen both parties

Prussian Army Mobilises!

Prussian troops this month prepare for action against the French in Northern Europe.
"Although we regret being forced to take such moves, the aggression of the French tyrant Napoleon appears to have made
military conflict unavoidable"
commented King Friedrich Wilhelm
"Unless Napoleon concedes to the very reasonable requests for negotiations and an end to the Franco-British conflic, we will assume that a state of war exists between our nations."

To back up his words, Prussian troops began assuming offensive positions in the Western European theatre, with preparations made for the seizure of Liege.

The Prussian economy has been placed onto a war footing, with previous civillian projects redirected towards the military in accordance with necessity.
Further more, a loan of 250 talents in gold was made from the Prussian territory to support our allies, Austria.

If Austria and Prussia wants a war with France, they will certainly have one. Do not make the mistake thinking France have left its borders unprotected.

In a final attempt at restoring peace, France proposes as follows:

---------

*France withdraws from Britain

*France does not claim compensation from Britian, and will consider the forces destroyed in Plymouth as sufficient.

*France gets Cordoba, and the rest of Spain remains neutral.

----------

This is Napoleons last and final offer. I now leave the decition to you. Either as a diplomatic response or the first bullet from Austrians forces.

For the first time in 40 years the Empire has dropped many of the censorship laws restricting political critique in common media. While the people rejoiced with the first political commentaries and in legally accesible Papers, experts on the subjects claim this development is merely serving the purpose of discrediting the enemies of Austria, while the censors are still putting a watchfull eye on imagery criticising the Austrian Monarchy and State.

Below: The French recipe for a European Gingerbread man

In press conference Prime Minister Pitt dlivered the following speech:

"The French dared invade the home island, the French dared strike at us. The French dared to conquer Plymouth! The French... made a mistake. This month British forces counter-atttacked against the inavders. Near plymouth a total of 6 units were destroyed. The siege of landon has been lifted by the total annihilation of all forces by the city.

The french still control Plymouth but not for long!

I wish to graciously thank my dear allies Prussia and Austria for their aid and support during this time of crisis. My allies... I thank you you both greatly!

Together we will destroy this mad dash by the French for rapid expansionism, together we shall destroy their tyranny."

REVOLUTION!!!!!

On the foggy morning of September 4th, a new country was born. Moscow´s citizens woke up prepearing themselves to face a new day, an ordinary day; but when they looked at the cover of the newspaper, they were shocked.
Ivan Rastikov, leader of the republican party, followed by hundreds of comrades, commanded a march to the Kremlin. Their only objective was to overthrown the tyrannic russian monarchy and capture Alexander and his family in order to execute them.
Despite royal guard puny resistance, they couldn´t accomplish their goal. Alexander was able to escape from the capital and travel to the far east Urals, where loyal comrades awaited.
All in all, this new "republican" government don´t have total control of the country. But it seems that russian army officers won´t do anything to counteract. It´s believed that they had given their approval before the begging of the revolution.

RUSSIAN MONARCHY IS OVER; LONG LIFE TO THE NEW RUSSIAN REPUBLIC!!!

To break French morale and so as to limit the attack capabilities of the French Consul Napoleon Austria has conducted attacks in three theaters:
aflag3.gif

Prior to the French attack of Plymouth Austria made clear that it would draw the consecuences if British cities were attacked, following the terms of the Anglo-Austrian Alliance.

Germany: Battle of Hohenlinden
hohenlinden.gif

*Baden has been taken and reintegrated into the German Empire under Austrian rule. The attack at Hohenlinden triggered an uprising in adjascent Lorraine which could be subdued- yet slowing the advance onto Geneva and Strassburg.

Italy: Battle of Marengo
marengo2.jpg

*After heavy shelling French troops occupying the Garrison of Milano have either retreated or been defeated in the ceasure of the city. Large Austrian formations are positioned around the city to prevent enemy counterattacks on Austrian train and artillery.
Here again, local uprising were triggered due to the fighting- the enemy troops having fled to the mountains surrounding Milano- apparently the dangerous French ideas of Republicanism teamed with the issuing of rifles has befallen these simple minds, confusing the Austrian liberators with those who had opressed them.

Mediterranean: Battle of Palermo
ratisbon.jpg

The emerging Austrian Navy has been able to cease the Port of Palermo - while the transport had been expected to arrive at Palma in 2 months time, worsening of the diplomatic situation and related outbreak of hostilities has resulted in a slight detour from the port and island of destination.

*Austria is tired of French power plays and shall conduct further negociations from a position of military superiority- the alternatives are comprised in the French retreat from Britain and the end of hostilities in Spain by French parts.

W.i.n.t.e.r, where do you get those nice pictures? They add more "life" to the game. :)
-----------------------------------------

After Austrians attack and capture of Baden, Milano and Port of Palermo, French troops are gearing up for a counter offensive. Napoleon is rumoured to be furious at the loss of 3 French cities. This will not be tolerated, and France declares all out war with Austria and Prussia.

Italy :

*French forces based in Genoa attacked Austrian forces that participated in the capture of Milano. Initial reports indicate success.

*The French Fleet also conducted naval bombardment against reinforcements from Trieste on they’re way to Milano. Reports claim 1 Artillery and 1 Cavalry battalion where destroyed.

*A French Ship of the line sunk one Austrian Frigate spotted outside Palermo.

Spain:

*In a naval attack on Palma, The Prinz Eugene was sunk anchored in Palma Harbour. French marines captured Palma shortly afterwards.

Britain:

*A British ship of the line, believed to be responsible for most of the French losses last month was sunk by a French Ship of the line. Further reinforcements where sent to Britain for the coming offensive against London.

Prussia reacts with sorrow to the French decision to plunge the continent into war, when there were so many opportunities for a beneficial peace
King Friedrich Wilhelm, spoke to mass crowds of his people in Berlin this month, his oration climaxing in the assertion that:
"...the people of Prussia will face the aggression of the French tyrant with grim determination and stoicism they are famous for."

He also relaxed laws controlling the press, encouraging them
to do their "patriotic duty for the good of the Germanic peoples".
The first "patriotic" items were united in their mockery of the little dictator:

This same grim determination which the King talked of was shown by the Prussian military in the field as, under General Friedrich Hohenloe, the troops crossed into French terriotory for the first time. Skillfully, the Prussian commander avoided any kind of military engagement with the French forces.
"Hopefully we will be as lucky in the remainder of the war"
one dissenting staff officer was heard to comment

* New Republican Government
* Internal relocation of troops
* Baghdad is near to fall!!! The Unholy Ottoman Empire will be destroyed soon!!

Austrian Generals alarmed at discovering large numbers of Russian regiments building up near the Austro-Russian border in Bulgaria, while garrisons in the area have now been more than sufficiently reinforced, Austria requests an explanation from its Russian ally , since such firepower could be used much better elsewhere!

---

Italy: Battle of Marengo
*Heavy losses have been taken in the French counterattack in the surroundings of Milano, the front having consolidated into a stalemate on both sides.

Germany: No conflict reported
*Austrian troops are marching on Geneva. In the North the Austrian formations are being aided by Prussian Divisions.

Mediterranean: Battle of the Balears
*The Prinz Eugen was was sunk in its anchorage in the port of Palma, before the port was taken by French troops (Damn, remembered I wanted to move it after I pressed ctrl N, oh well these things make the game more interesting).

Prize put on Admiral de Villeneuve's Head
The "Mediterranean Devil" de Villeneuve, responsible for the sinking of the Pride of the Austrian Navy, and that of HMS Victory is reported still to be in waters or ports surrounding Palma !!! A prize of 1000 Guineas in Gold are set on his head for any ship that dares to sink his flaggship and seize his head...

Napoleon is rumoured to personally overseeing the battles against Austria, France's strongest enemy. Perhaps once more Napoleons superior tactical skills will make the day...

Italy:

*French forces have stopped the Austrian advance, and is ready do deny them any further gains.

trafalgar5.jpg

*Austrian Frigate sunk east of Palermo

Spain:

*French forces capture Cordoba.

*An emissary from the Neutral Coalition sued for peace and was granted they’re wish.

Britain:

*French forces capture Bristol, bringing one more town under French control. The big push against London imminent.

Germany:

*Minor skirmishes with Prussian forces, killing 1 Artillery Battalion and 1 Infantry Battalion.

Liege captured

In an operation featuring almost the entire Prussian army the city
of Liege was liberated from the French. Amongst the losses
in the fighting were some of Napoleon's vaunted Imperial Guard
who were no much for the veterans of Prussia's IV Artillery.
No units were destroyed in the fighting, however there are number of near exhausted units left vulnerable to counterattack.
The victory was soured somewhat by Hohenloe's forgetfullness
in deploying his cavalry reserve to wipe out retreating French partisans, who sprang up on the capture of the city.

Prussia has had meetings with one Ivan Rastikov, the new leader of the Russian Republic, to ensure that the Treaty of Riga
remains in place and that Russia will act to protect Europe from the French menace. It appears that troops and ships
will be coming to Prussia's aid within the month. All of Europe
is now united in a coallition againt bloody tyranny, together we must triumph
[who feels silly?]

oo, can we have a map as well, please winter?
