Gnb3 Pbem!!!

After urgent last ditch communication between the leaders of France and Prussia failed to break the deadlock, Prussian troops advanced into French territory once more in a bid to negotiate from a position of greater strength.
A series of bloody battles, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides were fought as Prussian troops burst into the French held Netherlands. Citizens of Liege and Antwerp welcomed their Prussian liberators, and flocked to the streets proclaiming a new era of freedom for the region. The city of Amsterdam remained uncaptured but cut off, however it's defences were strengthened by few people who still vainly swore alleigance to Napoleon (bloody partisans :p )
In the South, Prussian troops made a rapid advance upon Strasbourg, capturing the city, whilst further infantry occupied
the city and fortified it.

The Prussian government most assuredly hopes that Napoleon is willing to negotiate now over the question of Britain and Spain, we will happily make concessions ourselves in order
that a compromise solution be reached.

*French Naval fleet in the straits of Gibraltar was sighted, intercepted and attacked. The British naval counter was incredibly sucessful with 3 French Ships of the Line sunk! Luckily DeVielenuve himself escaped unharmed. British forces have been placed on alert with orders to sink his ship if possible.

Regarding the peace treaty. Pitt himself who has aged significantly since the beginning of the war, said he will gladly sign peace under certain terms.

He proposes peace so long as France agrees to pay reparations of 500 gold to Britain (can be paid over a period of time). This sum is requested due to the heavy damage sustained by Britain. The destruction of Plymouth the massive shut down of many facilities in cities to financial shortage. As well as some payments to go to the families of our thousands of dead soldiers.

*Austria demands peace to be established ! The Kaiser made a public speech to Prussian troops and French prisoners in Liege during a stop on his way to Paris: " This quick succession of wars fueled by greed and sheer urge for revenge and lust for compensation is getting us nowhere (...) we must end this madness that threatens the stability of all of Europe".

*Austria pleads for an immideate armistice in Spain, as well as for the halt of hostilities in the Netherlands and on the battlefields of Turky!

Austro-Russian Peace Treaty Signed

Today the Austrian govenrment has announced a brakethrough in negociations with Russia, made possible only through the generally good relations between the two states prior to the sad incidents of armed conflict- as well as the recent developments between France and the Anglo-Prussian Axis.

With growing potential of the Austrian Armed Forces, the possibility of our country being drawn into a pan-European war by the sheer weight of the Austrian armed capacity built up during two recent wars is greater than ever. Austria therefore wishes to see the warring parties signing a holt of hostilities agreement: The aim should be directed at solving their disputes diplomatically- and generously forget past struggles in order to avoid even greater future ones!

Success or failure of negociations may well determine Austrian moves this month...

Let me see if i undertsand you, you will agree to a peace treaty for 500 in gold? And the situation in Spain will remain as it is now?
If that us what you propose, France agrees to your proposal :)

My apologies. I have changed my mind. At this stage 500 gold will be insufficent. After careful review it has been decided that to satisfy the British people, territory in Spain will need to be ceded. We propose Cartagena to be ceded to the British, Palma to the Prussians as a safety latch. The current cities under control by Prussia to remain under their jurisdiction, as well as any other claims Prussia has.

These are our initial demands expect revisitions.

Palma to Prussia ??? A bit far off- why not make it La Coruna ??
Britain to aclaim the last two neutral cities (Cadiz to make up for Plymouth and Granada as compensation ??

France would retain the four North-Eastern cities on Iberian soil, Prussia one outpost, and Britian the South-Western cities....

*The command over the Austrian Heer has been passed over to Fürst von Metternich, the mind behind the Balkan war. Archduke Karl will however remain in command of Army group south in Italy.

*Von Metternich has, after long discussions within Kabinet and in close consultation with the headquarter senior military staff, decided not to plunge the Austrian monarchy in yet another war.

*Instead troops were deployed in the South-West of Germany and at several positions alongside the Italian Eastern coastline, with troops of the Warring parties warned not to open fire on these soldiers, as they represent genuine Austrian interests and are there to monitor the developments.
Not a single shot has been fired upon either the French nor Prussian forces !!! Any attempt to remove these forces from their position will be regarded as an act of war against Austria and answered with full retaliationary measures!

*"If we wanted to attack, I would have ordered this already this month. I hope the presence of Austrian troops in their present number will however inspire the parties in question to come to terms and make it more interesting to seek peace with their respective European neighbours..." v. Metternich

To the leaders of Austria, Prussia, Britain and Russia

As leaders of our people we have an obligation to make a last attempt to restore peace. Not for our self and the generals, but for our people and children.

Therefore I will make a last attempt at meeting British, Prussian and Austrian demands. I urge all of you to make some compromises in the same spirit.

For reasons I do not understand, you seem to view France as an aggressor and untrustworthy neighbour. Although I do not see or understand why. I feel France and myself have acted with honour and compassion to our neighbours in the east. I have done my best to support both Austria and Prussia when both faced an imminent threat from the east. It is with sadness that I now see how quickly people forget.

In the matter of the war with Britain, I have stated my and Frances willingness to restore peace between our nations. Any attempt and proposition have been rejected from day one.

I will now make a last attempt at meeting British demands. I make this proposition in the spirit of a compromise and hope it will be answered in the same spirit.

Frances proposition:

Spain:

*Madrid, Barcelona and Cartagena will remain under French control.
*Gibraltar, Cadiz, Lisbon, Cordoba and La Coruna will be put under British control.
*Granada and Palma will be put under Austrian control.
*Further, France will pay 200 in gold to Britain as compensation.

Turkey:

*Antioch returned to Russia in exchange for a peace treaty.

Northern Europe:

*Prussian forces will pull out of every city they captured in the attack on France. In return France will pay 200 in gold as compensation.

This is my last attempt to create a peace treaty. It will be with great sadness if I have to order my army assembled in Paris to counterattack. I wish to avoid that situation at all cost.

-Napoleon-

Austria welcomes the initiative of the French leadership and hopes the other parties will follow... it is with bewilderment that the high command has read the concessions to be made to Austria since our country has not issued any demands but for negociations to be initiated, rather than bloody onslaught to scourge the lands. Perhaps the French leadership would like Austria to act as a buffer between the different sides ??

Our country has no claim on Spanish territory eversince the cities of Palermo and Palma were exchanged according to spheres of interest. The only concerns Austria has today is the close proximity of foreign ruled Baden to Munich, a vital city within our defensive grid. Similarly Florencia poses an indirect threat to Austrian shipping between Italy and Greece. Austria has nonetheless no quarrel with the French people and will not initiate an unprovoked attack out of greedy temptation!

Sorry Napoleon, but this is the situation.

1) I talk to you in order to form an alliance and divide Europe
2) You beg me to attack them as soon as possible in order to help you in the war.
3) You focus your campaign on England
4) I betray my allies
5) You make peace with them
6) You betray me with nonsense arguments
7) And now you say that:
For reasons I do not understand, you seem to view France as an aggressor and untrustworthy neighbour. Although I do not see or understand why. I feel France and myself have acted with honour and compassion to our neighbours in the east. I have done my best to support both Austria and Prussia when both faced an imminent threat from the east. Honour?? and Compassion?? Personally, i believe that you didn´t behave in a better way than Russia.
See, I betray Austria/Prussia; then you betray Russia.

Like Magic-Monkey said a few posts above; "The War of TheGreat Betrayal"
It isn´t over. Russia will fight to the bitter end. Sorry Nap, you´ll have to take Moscow and kill every single russian. Doesn´t matter people opinions or decissions. Give us freedom or give us death.

If it´s my fate to lose this war, i´m ready to face it with the few honour that remains in this country.

Good luck!!!!
See you in the battlefield!!!

Prussian delegates joined their counterparts from the other nations of Europe at the Conference of Paris in a bid to salvage peace for the continent.
von Hardenberg gave the following speech:
"It has never been the Prussian goal to wage an aggressive, imperialistic war of conquest against the French. In fact, our only aim was to counter the wars of this type being fought by France on the lands of other sovereign nations, Britain and Spain. War was entered into to ensure the long term security of Prussia, and of Europe itself . Therefore, we welcome France's willingness to talk of peace and will happilly agree peace once this security can be ensured. To this end, we suggest that at the current moment in time Prussian gains remain in our hands, plus the surrounded city of Amsterdam. In order that this peace may be a lasting one, and in order to demonstrate our willingness to make concessions, Prussia will allow the cities of the Netherlands to be demilitarised. They will not house, or produce, military units of any sort, dramatically reducing the risk of conflict between our countries. Prussia is also willing to provide France with 150 gold in compensation for the units destroyed during the attack. As for the issue of Spain, Prussia welcomes Austrian and British proposals on its future. In the meantime, until a mutually agreeable conclusion can be found we suggest a cease fire between all nations."

Hopefully, a settlement can be found.

Britain is not fully satisfied with the agreement. We are willing to decrease our financial demands to 400 gold, to be paid over several months.

In addition it is rather premature offering cities still under Spanish control to your foes. However in light of Spanish failure it does seem neccessary to secure the cities so an organized government can be established. The city of Granada is reuqested by the British. It servers as a shield for Gibraltar. We are willing to allow the French to retain Madrid, Cartagena and Barcelona. However we really must request Granada to us.

Also Britain is willing to sign a temporary cease-fire while negotiations continue. We will NOT make ANY hostile moves towards French forces unless they offend our territory our strike at us.

Actually it was me who suggested dividing neutral territory in Spain amongst the parties, Austria not being too keen to being involved in matters directly on Spanish soil as our interests are more Italy and Germany oriented... (don't think it would be fair to ask sb to take over the neutrlas at this advanced stage of decay)

Okay, how about:

*Madrid, Barcelona and Cartagena will remain under French control.
*Gibraltar, Cadiz, Lisbon, Cordoba La Coruna and Granada will be put under British control.

*Further, France will pay 300 in gold to Britain as compensation.

I already have Lisbon, Cordoba and Gibraltar don't try to appease me with my own cities.

350 gold and I shall sign the treaty.

Sas my agreeing to this treaty also depends on Prussia's satisfaction.
