Going Viking 2

@West36 - Mentat started his own thread for an expanded version of this scenario. You can find it here : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4582810

I'm not sure if he's still working on it or has abandoned it. Still, I might expand this scenario myself since there is renewed interest in it. Also, it would be a chance to fix any remaining bugs such as the ones Corn Planter found.

I tried this awhile ago as Norse.
Game kept crashing when about to complete Leif Erikson.

Could not tell but think the patch fixes this.
So I try again.

From what I played, I did not think it is too easy (as Norse anyway)
I could not get production or luxury going as quick as I am used to.
And the Danes in Sweden were always trying to take my expensive slow workers.

Also I do know I will not be able to advance so quickly.
I only hope that no one else will either......

If you ever upgrade the time-frame
I will certainly try it too.

Danke.

Aye me lad! Good Pillaging scenario! But I was wondering if you a Scotsman like yourself could make a scenario about the Highlands. Good day Laddie!!!

I have 2 sitting unfininshed on my hard disk. 1 is a scenario featuring the Northern and Southern Picts, Dalriada, Northumbria, Orkney (Vikings again), Ui Neill (Irish) and Strathclyde British/Welsh.

The other is based on the (1st) Scottish War of Independence featuring Bruce, Comyn, Wallace, McDougall, McDonald and The English.

Aye it does not get better for a Scotsman!!!:). P.S. where did you get that picture of King Arthur from Monty Python and if so how can one get it.

Google's 'Images' search option of course. You could always right click my avatar pic and save a copy ;)

Screenshots show expanded map for new version as well as the civs that will appear on this map.

If you need any copy and paste tech icons i can do it.

I may be able to do that.

It works so long as the terrain in question has been given a movement value higher than 1 (or a value of "0", which would turn the terrain in question into permanent Railroads!)

As usual, I'm late to the party. But I will definitely be giving this one a shot. If it's even remotely close to Camelot! I'll definitely enjoy it. I would also be very interested in those two Scottish you have on the back burner, even from what I've read they sound fan-freakin-tastic!

That's good to know Virote. I plan on setting the move cost to 2 for both sea and coast.

Tank Guy#3 - do give it a shot. I'm remaking this scenario so let me know what you like and don't like.

One question I have for everyone is do I keep the hidden nationality flag on Raiders? A lot of people thought they were a right pain ;). However, I like the fact you can go raiding without starting a war. In the new version they only have 2.1.1 stats and are soon superseded by better units eg the 3.2.1 swordsman type. They will be amphibious too.

ooh and look at the pretty arrows :)

I've pretty much finalised the first 2 eras now.
