This is a Korean unit to replace "medieval infantry". I think the armor is from around 1000-1400ad. The unit's name is Goonin (군인), which means soldier.

Thank you to: Sword of Geddon for helping with the PAL file, and CamJH for the animations.
Get him here

Right on! I love Korean units, basically because I know absolutely nothing about them at all. Plus, this one has a cool name. It rhymes with "Goo."

Edit: hang on -- where's the download link?

Excellent unit. An alternative and less generic name could be Sambyeolcho (삼별초), which refers to the special military units of the Goryeo military during the military dictatorship of the Choe clan.

If you have that guy on a horse, you could have a perfect Goryeo heavy cavalry unit. :)

Hi! I've never inserted units in my game, so forgive me, I'm a real noob, with a real noob's question:
I tested this Goonin in Debug mode, and it looks like a really great unit, but the animation seems to run a bit slow; attack, fortify, victory, everything seems to go in slow motion. Does the unit simply come like that or is there anything I can do about that?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I suppose it is, but I don't know much about this stuff. I don't want to take anything away from the unit, which is great looking.

Looks good, lots of great asian units coming out now that I'm in the hosptal. Not enough energy to comment on all the unit threads that have come out in the last few weeks so I'm going to say it all here, great work all of you.

Nice!! really really nice. :D

Optional, are you sure its running slowly? Try it alongside other units to compare. If you still want it to go a little faster, open the .INI file in the unit folder; I believe the first thing you see is the speed IIRC.

Hi Optional. If you use a program like Civ3FlcEdit you can alter the speeds quite easily. Load up a unit's animation and alter the 'delay' slider until it's how you want it, then save. You'll need to do this for each animation in turn.

EDIT - or you could do what againsttheflow says in the previous post, that would be easier.

Shiro - very nice units! It's an added bonus that we know that they are historically accurate as well as beautiful. :)

I have not game tested this unit. But I have a little trouble with FLCedit program. I never know what is the right speed, if it is on default speed it goes slow. But when it is custom, it runs faster, even when the default speed and the custom speed are the same...
