Technically this thread could be a spoiler if you have not already played the Gotm18 game up through at least the discovery of the map contents. So if you are still early in the Gotm18-Celts game you should not be here.

For all other participants, you may freely post comments about the game as they relate to posts that were made in the "Gotm18 wild speculation thread" but this thread should be used as a substitute for reporting and discussing game results in the correct stage spoiler discussion thread.

In the speculation thread about what Gotm18-Celts might include, we had a number of players who made some detailed predictions of what the game would be.

Here is you chance to review these comments and compare them to what you actually found in the game once it was formally announced and you could begin play.

Who deserves the official Crystal Ball award for Gotm18-Celts for being the player who could make the best prediction of the features that would be included in the game?

Please remember when you read these comments that none of these players could possible have any foreknowledge of the actual Gotm18-Celts game conditions when these comments were originally made because the none of teh game information had been released.

The nominees are:

Pilferman
Click here to view Pilferman's predictions of the cattle and a 'steel-cage death match'.

Ambiorix
Click here to view the true Celt's of pangaea, early aggressive neighbors, and specific resource locations.

Singularity

Birdjaguar

barron of ideas

There were also many smaller and very entertaining comments in the speculation thread that helped to show us differents sides of the player personalities that we often only see in discussions of dismembering their opponents. We want to acknowledge all the grat contributions to the pregame speculation discussion for Gotm18-Celts.

Nice touch. I think the fans will like voting on something like this. It will also encourage more "wild speculation" about future games.

My prediction, to my dismay, did not prove true. Cows were at a premium, as is typical. Oh well, I tried. The other "contestants" fared slightly better than I, but not enough to steal my vote. Thanks for the recognition. I'm looking forward to #19...if I have time.

Come on now! I nailed the picts, cattle, fish, lakes, lack of rivers and hills. What more can you ask from a wild guess?

And I'm a nice guy also, I didn't vote for myself - but for Ambriorix!

:)

Bleh. I thought maybe we were on the west coast. So I sent my archer west, and west, and west, he destroyed Carthage and France, but that coast was far away .... ;)

I got a couple of lucky strikes in my prediction, I guess. :)
Still, what makes these predictions most fun are the 'lunatic' predictions, the ones of unlimited imagination. So maybe baron of ideas won't win the vote, but the idea alone of having 256 shades of green....:crazyeye: :crazyeye:
