Once again, I probably left some micromanaging for ThERat. Just didn't have the focus tonight.

1455 AD (1) - Get 77gpt, 1039g from Hittites for Atomic Theory.

1460 AD (2) -



1465 AD (3) - Failed steal attempt, though the spy escapes.

1470 AD (4) - Moving transports towards Sumerian cities.

IT - Screwed up pretty badly, and left transports on open sea in the range of Sumerian bombers. A transport with artillery and a couple tanks goes down, and another just survives.

1475 AD (5) - Most units in bomber range are in the harbor at Nagoya. I am not sure how we'll get them safely to the Sumerian land, though. We have tons of bombers stationed there as well.

I am not too sure whether they started my turnset with oil but the alu seems to have been lost for them once we razed Erech :goodjob:
 
lurker's comment: Is it me, or does this map look weird...? , close,small islands?, and it does not look like a standard map..., also, shouldnt Carthage be on the coast, i mean, he is seafaring, and the map generator always puts seafaring civs on the coast..., well, enough about the question, great job with the pics. And great job on destroying the byzantines(or well...crippling them).:)
 
I know you can't drive a ship from east to west. Sounds like a custom map. Oh, well. Most of us didn't know it was a custom map.

ehr, no I didn't :mischief: The map was developed by _Phillipe_ as a huge map of the Philipeans. I then asked emporer (Lord Parkin), to resize it to 150x100. Just looking at the map, I always envisioned numerous hot landings. Unfortunately, Sumeria didn't expand as planned and has lost her oil, making this way too easy :sad:

I'm 4 turns in but need to crash. We have a foothold on the Sumerian landmass, but I accidently declared war on Carthage (pillaged the wrong tile, and didn't read the warning, too tired). Oh, and we can nuke if we want :nuke:
I'll finish up Friday night.

Well, that’s not the way I like to start :hmm:

Make mental note that we are at war with Byz, Sumeria, and China.
Nothing else to do.

T1: 1505AD Move lots of stuff up to the Sumeria island. Drop off about 10 tanks and kill a bunch of bombers in Tientsin

IBT: America wants an MPP, decline; suffer 1 bombing run in Isib.

T2: 1510AD Sink 4 Frigates, kill a bomber in Tientsin, destroy the barracks and some pop, but they have stuffed it with 1 Mech and 2 TOW’s, so the bombers don’t do much damage.

Crap, Sala riots. Looks like the new Declaration caused a lux to get cutoff. Bleck, have to scroll ahead and MM every freaking city to stave off riots. All the clowns are making me feel silly :gripe: :bounce: :gripe:

T3: 1515AD What a frickin pain in the ass that was. I decide to divert 2 transports so we can take the Chinese capitol and get gems to avoid that BS again.

5 Arty redline 2 Mechs in Tientsin; bombers kill an infantry and redline another, then start bombing an impossible-to-hit TOW. Finally, after about 10 bombers, I hit it and move to the next TOW. This one only takes 3 bombers, but dies instead of redlining. Then kill an infantry and redline another, then it cycles the redlined Mech’s back on top. Next bomber kills the 1st mech, 2nd mech takes 2 bombers, and then find a 3rd redlined mech. Boy, am I glad that the rax was destroyed last turn! :) Well, this one only takes 2 bombers but a 4th shows up. This one proves tough and nearly wears out the “B” button on my keyboard, but finally dies. 4 more bombers fail vs a redlined TOW, but now I’m thankfully out of bombers.

We also get 3 Arty in the deal, which promptly ding 3 nearby infantry. Move up a transport with 5 tanks and a worker, and then another with 6 arty. Bombard Hadrumetum, redlining a Mech and taking an inf down to 2hp. Attack with tanks:

Raze it to limit our town holds (we already have our foothold). Use the tank army to kill a ¾ infantry outside of Tientsin, and I get treated to seeing a decent sized Sumerian infantry stack.

Oops, I pillage a tile near old Hadrumetum, and accidently cause a war with Carthage :eek: I really shouldn’t play when I’m this tired :lol:

T4: 1520AD Kill a big stack of infantry next to Tientsin. Sumeria actually has 2 large stacks, 1 or 2 medium ones (I killed one), and a few stragglers. China has sent up a cannon/rifleman combo that looks silly. Carthage is sending infantry around, but doesn’t seem too sure who to attack.

With no techs to steal, I decide to bump the lux slider up to 20% and get all the lazy asses back to work. MM for an eternity, but don’t do a very good job of it.

Ok, now, spent 30minutes killing stuff around Tientsin. I airlift some workers to the Sumerian front so we can pop-rush a culture building or 2 and protect our airbases.

Get a GLeader blitzing a couple of redlined Sumerian Infantry near Tientsin. Leave him in-town for the next player to decide what to do with him. Kill 2 stacks of infantry, rifles, longbows, Mechs, ToW’s, maybe some chickens too, not sure :bounce:

All the bombers near Sumeria are in airports outside Isin and New M.C. We need some of our own culture there or less Carthage culture to ensure we don’t lose the airports to flips or expansions.
 
Having Sun-Tzu on the Sumerian continent will be a huge boost.

This isn't exactly moving slow. There may not be a game left for me to play on my turn, and that's only 20 turns off.

I have switched a lot of builds to settlers, as we want more up north to give safe spots for our large bomber fleet.
We are well placed to take some more Carthaginian cities . An army or two can pillage in Sumeria.

Tsingtao needs a harbor to re-connect gems but can't quite rush it yet.

The game is taking a long time to play but we are now rolling over the opposition.

The trolls has invaded my home. Well, the daughter got some friends over for sleepover and will have the computer. :)
 
Pre-flight – 1550 AD – We are tech equals with Sumeria and ahead of the rest of the world. I crank up science to get ecology in 13.

1555 – Guys having units on go-to isn’t cool in a SG. Capture Tatung without loss.


I added a map so everyone could get their bearings.

Moved on to Xinjian. Lost two tanks, but…


We’re short one attacker at Shanghai as we leave a wounded infantryman defending.

IBT – Valencia flips to Sumeria. We lose a three tank army.

1560 – Canton is autorazed. At Shanghai we get three elite victories, but no batons…


At Malaca we need to bring in a tank army, but we capture the city and consolidate the front.


At Oea, the defenses are decimated by our bombers and it takes one bullet to capture the city.


At Theveste, the four defenders don’t make much of a stand against our tank army.


IBT – Sumeria has a pretty good counter attack. Watch Carthage and Sumeria pound each other. Watch the Spanish and the Hittites pound each other. A force of Sumerians is dropped off behind our lines. We complete a SS part.

1565 – Attack a softened up Utica, and still lose a tank. We raze it due to the proximity to the Sumerians.


1570 – Working our way up the east coast of Sumeria, we bombard and kill a ton of TOW and raze Valencia.


1575 – Bombers allow us to raze Lepis Minor without expending a bullet.


Found New St. Regis.

After Action Report – The Sumerians have been sending submarines into the slot south of Oea and Tientsin. (red arrows) It looks like the sub base is Agade. Additionally, I have a small landing for for the eastern Carthaginian islands. (green arrow)


Here has been my plan on the main Sumerian/Carthaginian island. It will be a judgment call on which cities to keep. We have a lot of settlers on the way.
