Goz7 - The Squeeze Rematch

The game just suffered a total meltdown as off 1788AD.
Here are our oil sources:

This is more of the turn log:
1784 AD
The landed has been cleared, but we lost the named elite tank. :(

1786 AD
Yaxchilán is razed as I lost the ability to get troops to the front. I need that healing tank army back on the main front.
I have to disband the new workers, as I don't want to expose the troops needed to keep them.
(IT) Egypt completes the Internet.

The landing by New Izibia:

All that remains of the Maya:

The horrid mismatch in troops:

The above is the save as of the start of 1788AD. If New Tell Wilaya falls we can't reinforce the front. Right now the stack to raze the capitol needs the other armies and more tanks. The Maya are already effectively dead, so we must fight nonsense like this every turn of the game.

IMO this game is lost. If someone else wants to try, then go ahead. I feel I must sign peace this turn, and that ends the game. The other option is to watch the empire fall like a house of cards. Even if we raze THIS space ship, another will appear.

This game has a LK79 feel to it. I don't think our situation can get much better, as if we make peace they'll be lightyears away before the ink dries. And witout peace, we will likely be crushed in short order. Seems that we might be SOL on this one.

This is a deceptively difficult variant.
I agree it was much harder then expected. The trouble is a lot of small cities quickly burn through the rank corruption list down to hopeless corrupt cities. Look at the game before commie and first ring cities working just 6 or 7 tiles. The variant pretty much screws building a productive empire.

I don't think it is winnable from that final position posted.
This is why I gave the details so that people didn't think I simply threw in the towel.

Thanks to all for a valient try. Two attempts at that varient is enough for me.

Deity isn't impossible, it just requires some luck. Getting iron or horses would have helped us out a great deal early on, or saltpeter a bit later on, or coal even later. Getting none of these things for the amount of territory we had was terribly unlucky. I don't feel like we lost this game by a huge margin, either, and having at least one of those things on our own could have been what made the difference.

Just read the entire thread, and i think you could have done much better had you got early resources. IMO your last hope would have been to raze the eguptian city with apollo in, but i feel that it would only prolong the inevitable. not losing is 1 thing. Winning is something completely different.
Oh, and does anybody have a screenshot / details of the culture standings at the end? Would it have been realistic to say you could have got 100k before 2050 or egypt builds the SS again?
