Is it okay to link a forum attachment as the main file on the file database?

    and

Is it okay to link a thread as the main file on the file database (I did one: a link to a thread with my tech icons)?

I've had to do it a few times.

You want to use a thread as a DL?

Also can we delete two of the three unit libraries since we don't need them? Leaving only the unit artist library?

I thought it was a bit daft to put 6 individual links to the tech graphics subforum... Maybe I could merge all the pcx's to one big zip and add it there... afterall, they're not big files.

    Thread works as a dl-link. I tested.

Yep, you overtook me. I figured I had enough of my own stuff to include to the FDB... :)

    That's fine.

For tech icons, as you said, it's best to pack it in one zip and add it.
Very impressive. :) Now we just need 3 more files to hit 1000 files in the database!

So anyone asked how you got the big avatar yet? :)

    Yay

No, nobody asked about my bigger avatar... maybe because it's the same avatar I used to have, but it's only bigger

Ok, tech-thread replaced with a pack. Like it should... :)

    [EDIT]
No wonder Ybbor asked about MC's avatar: he requested in the avatar-help thread for an avatar of 80x80 and 6.0 kb... Show-off (yep, some File Database-dude... can't even create his own 80x80 6.0kb avvie ;) :p )

Well he did ask.:p I got the picture off the web and every time I tried to open the file I got denied, besides I'm really bad at resizing things.:D

Also I've started a thread in the C&C forums asking for helpers.

"Slow Down! You are trying to download files too quickly. You must wait 236 seconds before you may download another file." hey went to download file and had to leave to shut off download manager:cry: (which doesn't work with location) and restart my browser. went back to web site and get this message. what gives??:crazyeye: and at 4:45 am cst.

  13. Hey you know what else would be nice - a link on the file's page to the category in which it belongs. :)

Thanks for posting that. :) Hope we get some more helpers. This project is like building a wonder of the world. ;)

Thanks! When you get some time though, you should also upload an image for the unit. I think having thumbnail for all units on the category listing page is good to have. I will help add some images.
Agree. Would be good to have the category on the my files page and also in the profile's member files section... I already suggested this to the author but I'll look into the code myself.

Strange... I set the download delay betwen files to just 20 seconds. I think there is additional check when downloading large files. Do you always get that message?

    lol. :D

Most already have images. Just the ones that don't have an easily accessable image (accessable within 1.5 seconds) I don't upload.

And Embryodead's units are done! :yeah:

112 uploaded so far... I'm going to take a break now.

Ok, I didnt notice this right away, and I have a question or two...

What happens to files we had uploaded already? (my scenario, should I U/l it to the FDB??)...
will files uploaded to the FDB still count against our file upload limit?...

Sorry if these questions have been answered already, but with my new family additions, Id rather ask, than dig through pages of forum and end up asking anyway
