Added author info to the category file listing page.
It's put on the same line as the file size. Is that good enough?
I could make it its own column but there isn't much space left.
For the sort files drop down menu, I will add a sort by authors option.
EDIT: Sort by authors added.
Good stuff, though now that I think about it, why have a separate column for comments?
Obviously no one is going to use number of comments for sorting (and you know that 'cause there's no option for that
). It would seem more logical to put the # of comments info below the file's description and replace that with the author's column.
Actually, let me suggest a minor revamp of the table. First of all let me just say that I love the fact that you have the "sort by" dropdown list - it gives you the flexibility to add sorting options w/o adding column.
Now there is a way however to use more column headers for sorting (in addition to Date and Downloads), and more options is always good. Assuming the "# of comments" column is replaced by author column (or not but I still think it's a good idea
), you can do the following. Make the File column sort by name, and it would probably make sense to rename it to "File Name" or even "File Name and Description", but that's just extra.
Then, and this is where it gets interesting, move the rating info (i.e. the stars) below the thumbnail and use the Download column to sort by rating. The only catch here is that using a column named Download to sort by rating is not 100% intuitive but then again a somewhat non-intuitive feature is better than none at all (and by none at all I mean that right now no column header allows you to sort by rating).
This will also make the rating a bit more prominent, as right now it gets a bit lost in the description.
So, what do you think?
P.S. Of course if the author column is added then it should sort by author.
