[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

Also, I encourage all of you to enter the world of modding and make the civ you'd like to do! I'm even offering help, and the Hungary mod could be a good tutorial on how a mod for VD should look like (if you're new to modding).

I would love to make a MOD like this, but I have absolutely no artistic skills! I just can't paint!

I am not a computer graphic artist too.. There are tons of units created by other people (i.e. Bakuel has created most part of the units of Hungary mod). The idea of an italian civ (for VD) comes from the high number of high quality italian-not-roman-style units: in VD there are enough roman units; so, how can these italian units be used?

Obviously avain will have to help me.. :mischief:
 
Well what I wanted to do was mix and match some of the units to work with my own personal mod. I wanted to take different civs units and give them to America. I have been looking where those gorgeous Germany armored swordsman files are but cant seem to find.

I dont want to offend you Avain in any way by not just using your mod. I just want to make America more diverse. I havent really tried modding in Civ too deeply the only other game Ive modded was Total War series games. Which as I am finding out is very different than civ lol.

Oh, c'mon, I'm not so easily offended ;) Do you know why I made VD anyway? Well, it was in big part due to the fact that I wanted to choose which units to add! :devil:;)
 
better post the ship here (what kind of model was this, a nif as texture ... never seen such a thing before - there are still surprises with this foramt :lol: )

Both 5.0 and 5.1 versions crash when I discover Gunpowder. There was no such problem with earlier versions. Any solution?

What civs are you playing? Also, what type of graphic card are you using (i.e. do you think it uses shadered models?)

I'm playing as Russia and have only standard civs with exception of Cuba for VD. My card is Nvidia 8600.
 
I also noticed a problem around the time of the introduction of gun powder, I think it occurs with one of the other races, because it happens after you click to end your turn, I thought Cuba was the problem because both games this happened in, I had Cuba as an opponent where I usually don't. So I removed Cuba from my game, and have not had the problem since, but I don't know for sure if that was the problem because it could have been another race causing the problem. I will let you know if it happens again without Cuba in the game.

I also have noticed a problem with the Northrup jet, I think it is a prototype because you only get one, just as you only get one red baron plane. Once I get that jet, if I try to use it, like move it to another city or anything, the game crashes. This has happened to me several times, so what I do now is, when I see I have that one jet, I immediately click on the skull and crossbones and delete it, and the game runs fine then. Anyone else notice this problem?
 
There IS a problem in the current version of Cuba (that you can download from CFC), and it IS causing CTD (missing spanish galleon reference in XML)
I corrected it and also added other units to the mod, but it's bernie14's mod, so I just sent the corrected version to him, and he said he'll post it in his thread. So please be patient, until that you should delete Cuba as it'll CTD.

About the Northrop, I'll check!
edit: yes, just rebasing the Northrop causes memory allocation failure! Thanks for the catch, I'll correct it and post a new version soon!
 
Is there anyway you could re-name the NAVAL Dreadnought, it interferes with the Next War of the same name Dreadnought. Kind of hard to move a naval unit on land:lol:

I just named yours NAVAL_DREADNOUGHT and it worked fine.
 
the mod is superb but it still some problems of scale(some units are too big ect...).

Please be more precise, name the units with scale problems and I'll check them.
 
Native America Expanded has been updated!

You can now play as the Cherokee or Apache civs! Also, various improvements and fixes, including new buttons, art swaps and a cool new optional installer.

More info on posts #1 and #2 of the thread.

If you already installed the new version, simply run the installer twice; the first should start the un-installer which will remove the previous version. Don't worry - it won't uninstall VD :D

I have not my computer with civ 4 now. I'm in holydays. But by example we can see on the picture of the first page of VD that the holy roman empire's rifleman is too big.
