Graphics Modification Requests Thread

I think it already exists. Realism Invictus and Caveman 2 Cosmos have it.

Can you please e-mail it to me?

I was wondering if someone could make me a leaderhead for Phillip II of France for my mod.

EDIT: Maybe reskin this guy with a crown and the right clothes from my picture.

Could somebody make a city-style that is trees instead of buildings? I also have a feeling that there might be one in FFH...

The Louis d'Anjou LH might be useful here to. It even has appropriate textures. Only the beard would need to be removed, and longer hair added perhaps.

Ummm... stupid question- where do I put custom flags? where is the folder, that is? I couldn't find it in Assets/Art nor a flag defines in Assets/XML

The flags themselves are dds files which are in a folder called "teamcolor," you go to the Assets/Art/Interface/Teamcolor folder. For the XML you go to Assets/XML/Art/ and the file is called CIV4ArtDefines_Civilization.xml.

Have fun.

oooh ok thanks, I thought team color was the color values

Hi,
I'd like to have these in my BTS mod:
- Treacherous waters / windy waters: Meaning a coast terrain that's hard to sail through.
- Dunes, as a feature to place on deserts.
- Steppes terrain... I'm sure this has been already created, but I can't find one!

Thanks.

all have, I think. C2C has dunes, and the storm graphic could be repurposed for that. As for steppes, either the alternate-colored desert that C2C has or the Salt Flats C2C has

I need an invisible route, ie a route I can place on the map which cannot be seen. anyone know of such a thing?

if you take an existing road or rail and change the .dds texture color to something greyscale, then I believe that the game engine will not show the texture and it will therefore be invisible,

thanks for that. ended up using an invisible improvement rather than a route but it works great. I had no idea that empty.nif was there.

Posted this in Tech Support about a week ago, but it is more of a modding question anyway.

I was wondering if anyone here might know how to hide the clouds when zoomed out in BTS (not talking about fog of war here, I'm talking about the scrolling cloud graphics).

Searches returned some references to using Civscaler to do this, but it appears the author pulled the utility long ago, and the version that works with BTS is not available.

I don't have a problem manually editing XML files if needed, but my attempts to do that on my own seemed to be ignored, and I'm a little leery of trying to edit the dds files directly.

Is there anyone about who still knows how to make this work?

Hi,

I posted this in the main-costumisation-forum, but maybe I*ll have more luck to find a graphic-expert in here:

Hi guys,

I was hoping to get some help for a mod I am trying to do. My goal is to give rivers more strategical depth, for example by allowing ships to sail there (And landunits not to move there unless there are bridges etc.). Now I did all the gamechanges for that in the SDK (like changing the definition of riverplots etc.), but now I am trying to change the actual graphics for the river (because it looks a bit strange, if the ships are not sailing ON the river but just next to it...)

For that purpose I need to find a way to have the rivers flow in center of a plot instead of running on the south or east-edge of the plot. As I understand it, there must be a function somewhere in the SDK or possibly in a python-file that tells the game to load the river graphics to the southeastcorner of the plot, but I cannot find that function.

So if anyone could help me with this I would appreciate that a lot - and if someone could explain, how one could alter the look of the rivers themselves (make them wider e.g.) that would be even greater.

I would also be willing to learn how to do this graphic-stuff on my own, but I cant find a tutotial, that explains how the mapinterface and the terrainstuff interact. So if someone could give me some tips on learning this I would highly appreciate..
Thanks!

(forgive my poor english, its not my motherlanguage)
