Hi,
I posted this in the main-costumisation-forum, but maybe I*ll have more luck to find a graphic-expert in here:
Hi guys,
I was hoping to get some help for a mod I am trying to do. My goal is to give rivers more strategical depth, for example by allowing ships to sail there (And landunits not to move there unless there are bridges etc.). Now I did all the gamechanges for that in the SDK (like changing the definition of riverplots etc.), but now I am trying to change the actual graphics for the river (because it looks a bit strange, if the ships are not sailing ON the river but just next to it...)
For that purpose I need to find a way to have the rivers flow in center of a plot instead of running on the south or east-edge of the plot. As I understand it, there must be a function somewhere in the SDK or possibly in a python-file that tells the game to load the river graphics to the southeastcorner of the plot, but I cannot find that function.
So if anyone could help me with this I would appreciate that a lot - and if someone could explain, how one could alter the look of the rivers themselves (make them wider e.g.) that would be even greater.
I would also be willing to learn how to do this graphic-stuff on my own, but I cant find a tutotial, that explains how the mapinterface and the terrainstuff interact. So if someone could give me some tips on learning this I would highly appreciate..
Thanks!
(forgive my poor english, its not my motherlanguage)
