Graphics Modification Requests Thread

Buildings you like to have multiple time in one city (buildings in city style sets) should be very low polygone (<350 polygones). Buildings, which are built once it most citys (e.g. barracks, courthouse, shouldn't have much more than 500 polys. Buildings not built in every city especially by the AI (cathedrals, university and bank) can have more ploygones, up to about 1000. Wonders should have <2000 polygones and units should be safe with less than 1500<2000 polys. Modern computers can of course handle more polygones, but in a mod higher polycounts wouldn't be that good, for they can cause problems on older computers. Also notice, that too many or too big textures are a problem. (One textures with 256x256 (with smaller versions for gloss and light map) should be enough.)

Who can to do this, please?

This statue named "Svyatovit" (from Arcona). He has four heads.

I need it for my mod. Becouse, I have slavic pagan religion in my mod.

:( damn.
Would have been too nice :(.

How much polygons is too much for a good performance?
There are plenty of things in Morrowind, and i think, that's impossible, that there's nothing, what could be used here.
I was also thinking that there could be something useful from Morrowind's modder resource sites as there was huge amount of models made for it by various modders (I know as I modded Morrowind for couple years). The game used gamebryo engine and all models are in nif format, so I went and tried something with nifscope and swapped warrior's club to warhammer which was made for Morrowind, though I had hard time getting the angles correct as I have no skills in making meshes or in editing nifs... so I bet some graphics modder could put some of morrowind modder's resources to good use with civ 4. I don't think all those resources are high poly stuff... :)

Few Morrowind modder's resource sites:
Morrowind Modder's Resource Directory
Morrowind Mods & Modder's Resources Home
Lady Eternity's mod resource

I was finished Svitovyt :)

 funny, that you mention this today.

Today, i've loaded near 70 models from Morrowind into Blender to export them for Civ (because the Nif-Viewer can't read the Morrowind .nifs), and 55 have acceptable poly-counts (i think, please correct me if not).
The half are buildings (from 800 to 1300 polygons), the other stuff are miscellaneous things like a key, a chair, etc (maybe useful for a bit decoration of the FfH2 dungeons) or statues (one has 1600 polys, but it's extrem beautiful).
But it'll take some time, because i have to find all the textures for these models, convert them, maybe resize them, and all models have to be adjusted in height, and rotated by 180°, so maybe in 3 weeks or so, they'll be here (i hope).

I also got 2 units 2 work (one with 3000, the other with 1200 polys), but there are problems with the animations, i will have to open a thread, maybe someone can help me.

I've been a bit faster with some of the models, but there's a problem, and i would need someone to confirm it.
I've added the 2 attached packs to my testmod, where are also some other components in for testing, but with the second one added, i get random crashs, sometimes in the first round. I do not have the problems with the first one, but maybe i had luck.
Could some artist here please have a look at it?

Edit: Attachements removed.

Has anyone put together a mod with all the resources (i.e. timber, cotton, etc.) available on CFC?

I have zero artistic talent, but I have a good mod up (feel free to try it!). It's in beta now, but the only real reasons are aesthetic. I'd like to get some art so that I can release an official, complete version. As a brief summary Bronze Steam and Tears is a merge of RevolutionDCM and the Wolfshanze mod, but changed slightly to make it more logical. Basically I consider BST to be a simulated "commercially viable" expansion pack. In that it is completely stable (well as stable as BtS in general), and is very succinct, there is not too much added content like with other mods, it expands about as much as BtS expanded on Vanilla Civ.

Bronze Steam & Tears

Mainly all I need is an opening screen (currently uses the Wolfshanze Mod opening screen), and an icon for the desktop shortcut when it installs. Really apreciate the help from any artist out there that wants to put the finishing touches on what is otherwise a very complete and well packaged mod.
