Just a poll about some ideas for Greek-themed movies which could be made...

1) The Peloponnesian War

2) Fall of Constantinople

3) The fourth Crusade

4) Life of Socrates

5) Rise of Macedonia

6) The Titanomachia (battle between the Titan and Olympian orders)

7) Other

Btw i know this current situation here allows for joke-options, but it would be more refined to pass on them ;)

I voted for the Titanomachia, but would hope it is not killed like the other Greek mythology movies...

Fall of Constantinople... I even considered writing a script of such.
4th Crusade would be a good one too, but I like the Venetians too much to drudge that back up.

I would really like another sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the greatest cultural export from Greece in the last 100 years.

A film about a cloistered Greek man who is so obsessed with fear of all the world that he spends his years making Civ 3 city sets and writing Kafkaesque short stories.

300 with some better historical accuracy could have been very interesting; I did very much enjoy the film, but only on the understanding that it's from an incredibly biased perspective (that of the veteran encouraging the Spartans at Plataia at the end)

Very funny. Wait, i do know some people in ot who would laugh at that offering:

Still was a decent movie in my view as well. Not a history lesson, but good cinema-making

The Fall of Constantinople, if historically accurate. If its a comic-book movie, then nevermind.

Yes, it would...
...but it would also be fun.

Like a super-hero movie: "Tax Man"
A movie about a simple small business owner leading an otherwise normal life but occasionally ripping his shirt off to reveal the worlds hardest six-pack and then perform the extrardinary and heroic feat of...
...actually paying his taxes.

I'd love to see a movie based on the Greek Revolution. It could be about some smalltime Greek soldier, following his adventures as he fights a gurellia war, and end with a valiant last stand at the Siege of the Acropolis.

A Greek revolution movie could only be made, i guess, since Greece is in the news so much nowdays. Otherwise obviously it does not have the massive historic significance to warrant a big movie.
Not even the Greek-Turkish war of 1920-1922 does. Although at least in the Greek revolution the foreign powers were more obviously on the Greek side ;)

There has been a half-decent Greek movie made about the revolution. By a decent director. It focuses on Lord Byron, who fought and died during that war, here.

All my Greek history is practically learnt from films, so pick for me! :P
