Guess the Map II: witty sequel titles failed me

Sorry I lost this thread guys. Got it deleted out of my subscriptions somehow (must have misclicked another thrad) and forgot about it.

Visits by Queen Elizabeth II, starting with Kenya, where she was upon accension to the throne.

I was thinking that at one point - North Korea being highlighted threw me off, though.

I'm also suprised she's never visited Australia and New Zealand.

Er... the purple is 'highlighted', brains. Grey is not visited - North Korea, Mongolia and so on

You're thinking of the wrong map. He was the one who posted the previous map. :goodjob:

I was replying to the map posted afterwards. I did not want to take away from dido's map.

As to that one:

We can try again, just as an assistance, it refers to something with respect to Canada. And yes, it involves North Korea. At least one area may be a tad inaccurate due to changes in political boundaries.

Hong Kong, Afghanistan, DPRK, places where Canadian troops have fought in? Dont recall Canadian forces being in Russia though:confused:

Canadians absolutely fought in Hong Kong. I imagine Canadian convoys went to the Arctic ports in both world wars. I thought it couldn't be that because of Gallipoli, but now looking into it, only Newfoundland was involved in that.

I'm going to go with places Canadians have died in combat. Excludes Iraq in the first gulf war. Includes the Boer Wars, both Koreas, Hong Kong but no China... except I'd think some Canadian pilots were shot down over the UK.

That would be it. Canadian troops were in eastern Russia during the Russian revolution.

Russian Civil War, a Canadian force was based around Vladivostok (primarily artillery) in support of the whites. It saw little actual combat. There may have been smaller elements with various British forces in other parts of the Russian Empire outside modern Russia, but without any details, I excluded them.

Specifically: ground forces, since Air Forces and Navy just gets complicated, in combat operations and excluding peacekeeping operations (as they are generally separated from other actions).

I wasn't sure whether to include Iraq or not, there were Canadian troops as part of American units involved and the JTF2 role in a hostage situation is an open secret acknowledged by the US and British, but not the Canadian government. Similar for other JTF2 actions.

What do Belgium and Luxembourg have that the Netherlands doesn't?

Hmm

Austria but not Germany
Russia but no Belarus
China but no Mongolia
Spain but no Portugal
Belgium and Lux but no Netherlands
No Scandinavian countries or United States or Canada
And both Koreas

Can't think of anything..
