GDP isn't being tracked in the map, not directly. What the map is tracking, the things, also count towards GDP (and significantly) but focusing on that angle isn't going to get you the answer.

Don't think I can give hints that wouldn't give it away, so I'm opening the floor.

Answer was Forbes' top 2000 companies. Country shading reflected how many top2k companies were headquartered in each.
