Guess the Map IV: A Thousand Cries for "Hint Please!"

So, what's "linked" to Transportation? Cars, Railways, Airports, Harbors... no. Something thus related to roads? A ressource used for roads and its natural environment? But it's not "geography". Car radios?

Another trail of thought, we are looking for something which the USA is compared to the rest of the Western world, very good or bad in. So, normally, Industrialized countries don't have it. Plus, it's more common on the northern hemisphere. So, is it some natural gaz like Ozone? But I'd guess that would be prevalent also in Europe...

no, its not linked to "transportation" concretely, its not used for transportation but it is linked to it in some way, and its none of the above.

no, hint: Its a scale of the number of objects, not percentage or consumption but has number of xobject

Trying to think of what North Korea has a lot of.

Number of tanks!

Figuring out what island country on a list is what on the map is annoying.

in Monaco?

1) Most are developing nations. The industrialized ones (which are blue in this dichotomy) all seem to be Micronations (and cyprus). So maybe its a total number of sthg? (because small ones would be high if it were per capita)

- Some economic number (the total!)
- Football teams in a certain bracket?
- no national hockey team?
- PArticipants in some obscure UN-Programme?

I'm running out of ideas, key nations for the solution seem to be: Monaco, Turkmenistan, Bolivia, Nepal, ... Actually there are so many different single ones... And Yemen-Oman are also very different (if you discard all the cultural and geographic similarities which would also be shared by their neighbours...).
