Guess the Map IV: A Thousand Cries for "Hint Please!"

Countries that can spell the word color right?

Normally I wouldn't bother, but you don't spell something right, you spell it correctly.

Grey means that there has never been, red means there is no longer and blue means there still is.
More governed language by than about.
It has the most to do with Britain.

-Countires that were once governed with english as the official language are red, countries that still are are blue, never have been are grey.

Nevermind, that does make any flippin' sense!!

I've given up  I don't have a clue.

We need a serious hint or a reveal. This is all just shots in the dark.

Countires where British diplomats have wives!
-Blue=still married
-red=they all got divorced
-grey=never married (them Brits hate Spaniard girls)

Does it have anything to do with BBC?
Blue-Countries where BBC is locally broadcasted
Red-Countries where it has been replaced or outsourced
Grey-BBC is not available

A suspiciously small amount of the Caribbean is grey, so I don't think it's that. The Falklands are notably missing.

Well I'm guessing that it is to do with newspapers as it is governed by language and related to the media.

-Anything about Anglicism? I remember that thing about Quebec being a different color than the rest Canada.
-Or countries that get their news primarily from English-based newspapers? (not people from England, just the language of origin in which the newspaper is published.
