There is a reason that island countries are low, yes. And I did count Western Sahara as part of Morocco, btw.

Re map: I guess grey means no data and what is the exact sequence of the various greens? Is it a total number of some subgroup of the population, for example students?

Grey is the lowest level or no data. The order is Green < Red.

Gray doesn't mean none, it means the source I had didn't mention it because it only had the top X countries. Different colors mean different things, not a sliding scale.
