Aww, then they're depriving you of knowledge. I didn't even know Canada had a civil war. I'll have to look it up.

Australia was independent before the '80s too. :p

What I was saying was that it was something that a lot of countries got at independence, whilst others didn't. South Africa could be a big clue actually, because something reasonably important happened there in the '90s.
