Do you mean the civ2 map, or the original map it is based upon? I have them all on my harddrive I think, if you'd want to take a look at them. (I have to check, but I think they're all there, including the numerous revisions of the hammer game map).
I meant the civ2 map ;) The whole map, which is bigger than the one in this scen. :D

Trade and tranquility dominates the Norse turn.
Norse wessels spotted by Scots are just peacefull merchants.

King Olav want's to make an offer for the former barbarian city of Kiev.

Other Events:

Danish Wikings settle in Normandy.

If I had more time I'd offer to try a 2 player (or if anyone else wanted to join they would be more than welcome) game of AWAW.

With a bit of luck I'll soon have the next version ready.

Danes
King Sven we're chocked about two things. First of all, a French war galley blocked the way into and outo the English Channel, thus causing us delays in our pickup of the settlers in Normandy. Hopefully this is just a temporary blockade.
Second of all we found an Anglo-Saxon war galley (in a stack) in Danish waters (68,82 outside of Groningen, Frisland). We urge the Anglo-Saxons to withdraw their vessels from Danish waters unless they have a reasonable argument why they should sail there. You've been warned before..

Danes, the War Galley is escorting a Knarr bearing goods for Hedeby. It will gone next turn...
No need to escort from now on, just tell me it's goods..

Danes, you say :
No need to escort from now on, just tell me it's goods..
But Danish ships are not the only potential threats to me - the Norse for example are only in a fragile ceasefire....I will not block Danish waters with my warships, but they are needed to protect my convoys in international waters

Hmmmm :hmm:

international waters
A sea square right off the coast of Frisland (which belongs to the Danes) is not international water by any means. It's even in the city radius of Groningen.

And IIRC correctly we don't have a trade agreement, therefore we request your ships to head back to Anglo-Saxon waters again.

Multiple interruptions... job, my son's 3rd birthday yesterday :) , etc).

@Norse: your offer received and accepted, conditionally. 1.) never transferred a city, so want to ensure JUST the city. I will need a turn (or 2?) to vacate my forces from the city. QUESTION: does all forces need to be removed from the city SPHERE... or just from the city? (anyone know??) And secondly, just send me each turns payments via my regular email. So depending on any collective knowledge about transferring a city, I'll need the offer again in a turn or two.

Barbarian city of Regensburg successively assualted by victorious German forces.

Barbarian city of Novgorod, beseiged for months, is finally assualted by German forces. Multiple combats result in heavy casualties... but the German forces are victorious in clearing out all of the many defending barbarian units. German forces WILL take possession of this ungarrisoned city next turn (i.e. <somebody's> ships headed towards this city need NOT get cute and decide to 'drop' a unit off in the city. City is now Otto's, with acceptance ceremony taking place next turn.)

I doubt the Anglo-Saxons were referring to the current placement of his ships as International Waters, but, to deliver his goods the ship must pass through International Waters along the way.

Silk from Nottingham to Hedeby: +384 gold

Hides from York to Vik: +120 gold.

Unfortunately, the Scots offer sent to us by courier was obsolete when it arrived. No matter. We thank the Scots anyway, but can manage quite well without their gift now....

Strange.... It was a new offer, not just a repeat from last turn. Did you pull the right file?
