Has Twitter become better or worse since Musk controlled it?

If Musk ends up controlling Twitter, that would make Twitter:

  • better

    Votes: 29 27.9%
  • worse

    Votes: 75 72.1%

  • Total voters
    104
As everybody knows, The Onion has bought the Infowars website. Which would mean that it also now owns its social media accounts.
My understanding is that Elon actually went to court to claim that selling twitter accounts is against the ToS so they could not be included in the bankruptcy. That is likely to be the personal ones rather than corporate ones I guess.
Great victory, Alex Jones lost his site, Trump won the elections :mischief:
Besides, Alex is too old to get back to having the audience he used to, so infowars was dead either way.
The other bidder offered ~3.5 million and would probably have kept on Jones, so someone thought it would have made money. It turned over tens of millions selling herbal supplements to idiots, I think there was some money to be made.

Generally speaking, most visible contents tend to focus on an "us vs them" rhetoric. What is worrying is that this is the most efficient way to manipulate people. Once you recognize yourself as belonging to a "side", you tend to easier accept everything that pretends to support that side and reject everything that pretends to be against that side.
Facebook also becoming more and more like that.

Used to be 80% friends photos/comments now it's 80% stupid memes usually inflammatory ones (men vs woman and vegan vs 'carnivore' are common ones I see).

Bait and switch.

We joined the internet so we could deal with our fellow humans from arm's length and now an ever rising number of 'interactions' won't even be with our fellow humans (and the ones we do deal with will have been fed a steady diet of bot/algorithm/boosted bllsht).

Someday I'll build a tiny house community where we'll have Internet night once a fortnight for sociological study and business purposes only.

In the meantime I'm as addicted as the next guy/gal.

He didn't just argue that, he actually argued that the accounts are owned by the company formerly known as Twitter.

I don't know too much about the old Twitter. I just joined a week ago so I could send a mean tweets to the Alabama Football account.

I like the Community Notes feature, but from what I understand it isn't new.

It's not exactly a compliment if you mention that the place is good for insulting people.
