Have a song stuck in your head?

When it happens, I just hum another song all the way through; for some reason, getting to the end of a song just seems to get that song out of my head. Unfortunately, I'm very tuneful, and manage to get a new one stuck in my head shortly thereafter.

I've learned that I'm more likely to get a song stuck in my head if I was listening to it, but didn't hear the ending. For example, shutting off the car radio partway through a song I know might have me whistling a toon for hours.

I take that to the next level: hearing one song will sometimes get me to fixate on the next song from the album without ever hearing it...

I think you've just hit upon the solution to all the earworm problems.

It's like when somebody gets hiccups. My friend used to tell people "I'll give you a dollar if you hiccup in the next 30 seconds."

To the best of my knowledge, he hasn't given away a single dollar yet.

I the songs too.

Usually Pantera song because they are so funky and singable. Metallica and and Slayer sometimes too.

I also have periods where some different songs just can't seem to get out. I've have Breaking the Law and various Timbaland songs stuck in my head too recently.

I have the "Viva Viagra" song stuck in my head. Viagra has seeped and leeched its way into every corner of America be it TV ads or billboard ads on the baseball field. Its every where, even in Fire Fox's spell check.
