A distraught Napier woman who reported the theft of her three marijuana plants was warned by police her gardening habits could have legal consequences.
The 45-year-old woman rang police yesterday morning and began crying as she told them about the theft of the plants she had been growing at her home in buckets.
The police communications officer who took the call found it difficult to stop smiling as the women gave details of the theft over the phone, Senior Sergeant Mal Lochrie told the Dominion Post.
The woman lamented this was the fourth consecutive year someone had sneaked on to her Ahuriri property at night to steal cannabis plants.
"I am a good person. I am sick of these low-lifes stealing my things," she told the communications officer.
The woman was warned by a community constable who visited her to take details of the theft that her horticultural pursuits could have legal consequences.

What a idiot, The cops arent going to give it back to her if they find it. Is it even illegal to steel someones drugs!

Another dumb criminal. The police warn her? That's pretty much a confession.

Idiot

Though I will say for the record I think it should be legal to grow marijuana plants

But still, what an idiot

Awwww. I almost feel sorry for her . . . um, only joking people :) .

The police should be dealing with her leniently since she's being so cooperative.

My first thought when I read this thread title:

"... and my pants "

I've been trying for the past twenty minutes to think of something even funnier to tack onto that, but there is nothing. :goodjob:

Don't be so sure. I had some friends who's house was broken into and the police caught the guy with their stuff and returned it. One item which was listed on the inventory and returned was 1 canister marijuana. It was a very small amount and the guy who’s it was was going to save it for posterity, but his roommate smoked it on him the same day.

True story (Madison Wis. ca. 1979- the penalty for possession of less than an oz. Was a $5 fine at the time)
