Heretic_Cata's All in One Mod - Expansion

Yay :D

Also, download the patch (i forgot to put that in my prev post on time).

Fantastic looking mod. Downloaded it last night and started my first game tonight, and it looks great.

 Thanks

I think you're the poster with most posts that played my mod. :goodjob:

I haven't played much C3C in the last few months, but randomly started playing again a week or so ago. I actually downloaded a previous version of your mod a while ago, but never got around to playing it.

Of course, the Inca keep slaughtering my armies, and I'm only half way through the middle ages at 1800 AD. :ack:

If I wanted a longer/slower game would you recommend me increasing the turns to about 1000 for this MOD? If I do will it screw anything else up? I just really like long drawn out epic games on HUGE maps. Or, should I just leave everything alone?

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time!

Towers on the incan border then. :D

The date has always been screwed up. It was always either space age in 100AD or Rise of Monotheism in 2000AD. Everytime i try to fix it - it's always VERY wrong sometimes. But i take comfort in the fact that it was wrong in the original game too. :p

Oh - did you install the patch ?

I don't think increasing the turns to 1000 will do anything bad. The date shown might get even more screwed up than it is - but that's not very important.
Note that you can turn off the turn limit entirely from the editor. EDIT: (it seems this is not true ... alas 1000 turns then)

To make the game slower i guess you'd have to change things about the techs.
You could put the minimum research time to something like 20 turns. But this could mean that at one point everyone will research techs every 20 turns. No one would do it faster.

EDIT: Read the next post - virote has a better idea /EDIT

I think the most safe way of making the game slower is changing the cost of EACH tech (doubling it maybe). This takes some time tho ...

Also, if anyone has any other ideas please go ahead.

You can't actually erase the limit completely from the editor, you just get to decide if it is default, or if it is pre-decided :(

To help with tech rates, how about using the "tech rate" thing in the world sizes tab?

It's not ? :( I edited my post for our friend.

I've never used that before. Did anyone ? I'm not sure i understand how it works ... But i guess that if you put 750 or 1000 for huge things would be as you wanted then manooly. :) It's much easier to try this then my sugestion.

Part of the problem is that the Inca built the Great Wall in fairly hilly terrain. :ack:

And yes, I installed the patch

So, how come I keep having nuclear meltdowns? I'm still in the Middle Ages, and I've had 5 or so. I'm guessing it has something to with the Tower of Babel.

Ah - the terrain defense modifiers are slightly higher in my game. They were insignificant in the normal game. This is the way of the RNG god. :D
Attack other neighbours then. :) It is good that i managed to (accidentaly) make some civs (depending on the RNG) be stronger than others. I always found it wierd that in the normal game i always atacked everyone because they sucked.

HAVE YOU NO FEAR OF GOD !! YOU SOLD YOUR CIVILIZATION'S SOUL TO THE DEVIL !!!!!

Yes it makes potential meltdowns in every city you have.
Having only 5 meltdowns by the middle ages is quite lucky if you ask me. :D

Oh, and Leonardo's Workshop might have exploded too ... and Anti-Semitism.

The Inca are actually my only neighbour. :p I'm playing an archipelago.

And next time I definitely won't be building the Tower of Babel. I really only built it this time since I got a SGL early in the game.

If you keep your citizens in a constant state of happiness, you wouldn't need to worry about the meltdowns, as from what I remember, they only take effect during unhappiness.

Time for butkissing for peace then.

It does give a huge research boost. The never expiring gain advances known by 2 civs is very good. But the pollution problem makes the Tower a wonder for smaller maps.

I didn't know that either.
Are you some kind of "Did you know that" bot ? :p

By that time I had already taken most of their cities before getting slaughtered at Cuzco. They were more than willing to settle for peace. :p

No, there was just too many pikes for my MDI. Not to mention my Trebuchets didn't do me much good.
