Heroes

Not sure on who (I'm guessing Barbarian Rulers?), but that gave me an idea:

Great Animals. A larger, tougher version of each animal spawn. World units, they each spawn once and they are automatically subdued when killed. The subdued versions have powers like national heroes (not the same ones) so you can use them up for a small culture/science/gold/food bomb.

Luckily all that can be done in the UnitInfos.XML. No need for me to worry about changing SubduedAnimals mod.:p

4. No can do, this is not an actual unit, its a unit that is produced only when Spartacus wins a battle and makes a Gladiator out of the loser.

5. Not an actual Hero (He will be a person that will be like a Barb Civ when they get discover into a new spawning system, i haven't set-up yet.

5. Great, then i will need one for as you mentioned for the civs: (Huns/Goths) then also, Tupi, ANGLO_SAXON, BENIN, SELJUK, KHITAN, WEI, MUGHAL and CARIB all barbarians civs.

But keep this on the downlow, i dont want anyone to know, ok, thx.
 
OK everyone, i have had the Heroes working for a week now, what do you think i need to do, make it alot better still or wait, BEFORE or AFTER the next version for C2C? I still have ALOT of ideas i want to do here, but it seems that since only a few have played it yet (only in SVN version), really aren't talking that much about it?

I've not seen a hero yet - what makes them appear in-game?

They are only available after Ancient Era, then they are only listed by TECH and Culture/Embassy. You can get the culture as in the Culture Civilizations way, exactly the same infact.

They have their OWN promotion(s) and OWN building(s)s for them, but be careful on the "Blueish" building, once used hero is dead for good (end of life).
 
I have had Sparticus twice but have not see any others. Are they all fighters? What about a researcher that can explore city ruins or strange land forms (tar pit, crater, fossils) and come up with a way to use them? They may have a number of times you can use them or maybe a spectacular tech/building that you could not get otherwise - alt time lines anyone. :)

Yes, your on the same page as i am thinking, i "wanted" to use Lara Croft for that, with your permission of course, but i dont want to make anymore Heroes for now, just fine tune what is out there now, heck there is around 50 of them.

Heck, she is not my creation, I just liberated her from another mod. ;)

I know, but i dont really like using or changing (much) in another person(s) area UNLESS i have to.;)
 
would there be the possibility to disable this like this

I am taking you mean Lara Croft, and if she stays as a module yes (through MLF that is), but if she moves to the core, then no.

Might I suggest taking a look at the work that was done on the Mod for The history of the three kingdoms. They had a great hero system - including recruiting hero's, hero loyalty to factions, ability to capture and hold them in prison until you decide to execute or recruit them (ease based on loyalty factor), special promotions and hero promotions. The ability to form a legion with a hero, so that the other units in the legion would receive some of the benefits of the hero. For example, creating a legion with archer units and pairing it with a hero that was archer based. The legion would gain some benefits from having the hero lead it with the # of units allowed in the legion increasing as the hero leveled up.

There were faction specific hero's and then just general hero's as well.

Some really good stuff there and it really added to the flavor of the game.

Nice, thats sounds very intriguing, i will take a look, thx for pointing me there, and incase nobody said it yet, Welcome to CFC.(even tough you have been here since 08, but very few posts, so thx again).

I think that the team should wait until all the hero stuff is in before releasing v18, same as we waited for ALL the new terrain/map stuff before v17. Besides, it's only been two weeks since v17 was released. No need to jump the gun IMO.:)
