You keep calling an opinion 'authoritative', I dont see a real difference between calling Trump a scumbag and saying I think Trump is a scumbag. Describing something as fact makes an authoritative claim.

The issue is that there is a bad split in the dem party, and it is caused by the persistence of figures like Hillary - and not just her, the new DNC chairman is of the same type - to keep presenting the party as somehow having no inherent problem - let alone no problem caused by them.
Last time around, this situation caused Trump to be potus. An ancient saying is that "to err twice isn't a trait of a wise person".
