History Quiz III (with rules)

In the 1760s Pulaski led an unsuccessful revolt to end Russian dominance over Poland. Forced to flee, he came to America, where he took up the American revolutionary cause. He distinguished himself at the Battle of Brandywine and was made a brigadier general. Later, after losing an argument with "Mad Anthony" Wayne, Pulaski recruited and organized Pulaski's Legion, which fought in South Carolina and Georgia. Pulaski died during a cavalry charge outside of Savannah, Georgia.

Ok, it's been 4 days and nobody has answered , so I'll give it a try.

This great military leader encountered two strange craft at a river crossing, described by his historian as shining silver shields, spitting fire. These UFO's dove repeatedly at his army until both men and horses refused to cross. Who was it?

I don't know what river it was, bonus points for anyone who knows :)
 
i think it may have been at the Indus river and reasons why he didn't cross it
 
indus? well he did went deep into india, and batted a bunch of war elephants...... but now i have to think about a question.....mmmh......
 
This was one of the few large defeats of the roman empire, it was so huge, that rome decided to leave the victors alone for a looooong time, ending roman expansion north.

what battle was this?
