Random guess : first pilot to shoot down a supersonic plane (Mig-15)

As I said - random.

Just for grins and giggles: First time a manned jet was shot down by another manned jet?

Just a question.....is he famous? Honestly I have not heard of him but then again I am from Europe so I might not know all of the American legends

Oda Nobuanga (and others) are correct.

8 Nov Lt. Russell J. Brown, 16th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, flying a F-80C "Shooting Star" shoots down a MiG-15, scoring the first jet-to-jet aerial victory ever.

Quoted from: http://www.skalman.nu/koreanwar/1950.htm

nonconformist, welcome to CFC :) I didn't know him before yesterday, but I'm also an European :)

yes, but it is in dispute now that soviet records are avaliable. the soviets claim a mig-15 shot down a f-80 on nov. 1st,1950 but u.s. records record no lose. on browns victory soviet records say no plane was lost that day. so maybe nov. 9th,1950 when a navy f-9 shot down a mig and soviet records confirm a lose is the real answer:)

p.s. soviet records show that soviet pilots flew 2/3rds of the mig missions in korea and the u.s. had a 10-1 sucess rate--the russian air force must of had some crappy pilots:D

OK, I think that means it's my question...

What depressing news did Bloody Mary receive that ocurred Jan. 7, 1558?
