4. Other (Like that crazy romanian dude who drank peoples blood)

It was actually a woman. Elizabeth Bathory was one of the most demented people I have ever read about...

He may be talking about Vlad the Impaler (Dracula). He did in fact impale people, and is rumored to have drunk their blood (thus the whole vampire thing).

Clinton

(I kid I kid couldnt resist)

Mere rumors and child's play compared to Liz ;) She would skin young girls and drink their blood in an effort to become younger.

Something with the water in Trannsylvania I think :p

^You serious? He's the dictator of North Korea (modern day).

Ahh, that's right, damn... xD Well, I'm serious, but I don't know anything about North Korea. My education system has in History only focused on WW2, while Society Studies is an all-day long bad teaching about the irrelevance of liberalism... In Denmark we have extremely high taxes, and it was a public school soo....

Heard of him, now you mentioned it, but still...

EDIT: voted Pol Pot.

Well I know who he is :D a guy with a seriously bad hairday...

<--- from Denmark too.

My top 4:

1. Stalin
2. Pol Pot
3. Mao
4. Hitler

4. Other (Like that crazy romanian dude who drank peoples blood)

If you mean Elizabeth Bathory, she's a woman, and Hungarian, not Romanian.

If you mean Vlad the Impaler, he didn't. It's just an XIXth century myth, inspired by Elizabeth Bathory and his impaling technique which he learned from the Ottoman Empire in his youth, while he was forced to live there.

Mere rumors and child's play compared to Liz ;) She would skin young girls and drink their blood in an effort to become younger.

Elizabeth Bathory was not Transylvanian. She was Hungarian. And Vlad the Impaler was not from Transylvania either, he was from Wallachia.

Pol Pot tops the list without a doubt. He wast the worst and most brutal out of all of them,

All the others have their redeeming qualaties so none of them are on a scale equal to that of Pol Pot.

Hmm. Yes, from the percentage Pol Pot it is. From the pure figures Mao. So I take Pol Pot.

1. Pol Pot
2. Mao
3. Stalin
4. Hitler

Adler

1. King Leopold of the Congo Free State
2. Kim Jing Il of North Korea
3. Pol Pot of Cambodia

honorable mention to Lopez of Paraguay.

Napoleon and Mussolini hardly deserve a place in that list... they were fairly harmless compared to those other fellas. For me the list is, in order of evilness/brutality:

1-Pol Pot and Mao
2-Stalin
3-Hitler

They're considered "tyrants" none the less. I included them just for "popular" examples. I was figuring the most popular vote would be:
1. Hitler
2. PolPot
3. Stalin
4. Mao
5. Other (please specify)
I really didn't have to even INCLUDE a poll, it was just for spice. There are too many to choose from so I picked well known bastards who were considered tyrants in their day.

1. Pol Pot
2. Stalin
3. Hitler
4. Mao (He deserves lower ranking, for the fact he was what was said before)
5. Your mom, for inflicting so many fatalities on the world, and showing her uglyness to childrens' faces. ( :joke: )

couldn't resist. ;)

1.Stalin
2.Hitler
3.Pol Pot
4.Mao
5.Mussolini

My top 4:

1. Stalin
2. Pol Pot
3. Mao
4. Hitler
Only recent (mostly 20th century) leaders. This shows how short-memoried we (read: our history education) are.

Well, we often don't know as much about the earlier dictators, and in general they weren't able to be as great a tyrant as the modern ones due to less technology.
And due to lower population meaning there simply weren't enough people to kill, maim or torture. :undecide:
And due to recording and spreading methods of information.

So: what makes a "brutal dictator" ?
