Just submitted my first HoF game (#26915). It's a UN Diplo win but the entry says it's a Religious game..??

You must register an own account on that page. I'm not sure if you have to send an email. Maybe you'll recieve an email with a password or whatever. It's been long ago since I registered to the HoF, but I assume that the page has a different database than the forum, therefor you need 2 accounts (with the same username of course) .

I am afraid I don't know how to help with this, but I will pass it on. I checked the database, and "dohh" has not been registered previously.

I guess my only comment is to make sure you are hitting the "register" button, not the "submit" button.

"Didn't work" is just a touch vague lol, can you explain exactly the problem and symptoms? More chance we can help you then!

We don't use/have access to the CFC passwords for the HOF website. As mentioned above, you need to setup a user.

Select the Login/Submit option. There is a Register button at the bottom.
We need your User id and an e-mail address. Please use the User Id as you use on CFC to avoid confusion. You will receive and e-mail with your password within 24 hours. (Please check you spam. ) I you don't get it after that time just let us know at hof.civfanatics@gmail.com.

HOF info lists Rising Seas as optional, but BUFFY mod says that it's not acceptable. Which one is correct?

It is optional. The user setting file must be set wrong.

I've hit this issue today, I assume that the Mod is still wrong and my game will be accepted OK if I play with Rising Seas?

EDIT: I have used the Check Start File option and it passed fine with "Rising Seas" selected so that's good.

Regarding the 30 minutes/session rule, what counts as a session? Is it a session if I open the game to look at it and then close it without doing any moves?

You should be able to load a save and not start a new session as long as no irreversable changes are made. Moving a unit, even one automatically via a go-to command would start a new session. Just as WastinTime mentioned, there is no issue with loading a game save just to look around. To be safe, put the game in PAUSEd mode immediately and do not unPAUSE it.

Personally, I rarely (never) load a game save, except the last save to continue the game. The autolog.txt file usually contains the historical information about the game that I need.

Just "upgraded" to Windows 7 and now I'm getting this error.

So far I installed Vanilla, patched to 1.74, installed HoF 1.74.004.

Then I went through the file permissions fixes.

Now I get this error when I try to load the GOTM100 starting save.

You need DirectX9. It should have installed. Maybe you cancelled that piece of the install?

Your assets don't match the file. BTS had updates to Vanilla and Warlords which you will need even if you don't have BTS. The GOTM site's FAQ has a link to the missing files.

If that doesn't work, try running AssetChecker. Save and post the CSV file here. It will tell why your assets aren't matching.

Thanks, I will continue installing through BtS and see if that fixes the issue.

Don't forget to install BtS patch 3.13 and then 3.19.
Otherwise you lose some map options, etc.

What map options did I just lose?

Do I need to uninstall Bts entirely > reinstall > patch 3.13 > patch 3.19 > Buffy 3.19.003 to get "full functionality"?
