How did you end up in CFC OT?

All I remember is managing to drive everyone nuts and constantly getting infractions. (Is this PDMA?)
After this many years, I should think not (see Site Feedback for ongoing arguments over the years regarding the moderation of this site).

So much time ago i dont even remember. I registered almost 20! Years ago  to download something related to the game and left for some years, then returned about 5-6 years later and got engaged in some OT discussion i don't exactly remember (it was about bullfighting IIRC )

Since then i am an sporadic visitor. Post in some thread and then leave for some months but always get back sooner or later. Curious.

I had some questions about Civ4 and one thing led to another..

What I find best thing on CFC is that very many people here love Monty Python as much as I am loving it :D
Ugh, I'm so sorry, but I'm not in that group. There's maybe two or three scenes from the Holy Grail movie that are worth a quick chuckle the first time you see them, but UGH I can't stand those things running over and over (my ex was really into that group)

No need to be sorry Marry, it's not that liking Pythons is "required" trait to post , I still  You all the same ;)

I came to CFC from Apolyton looking for more civ2 downloads. I mostly posted on Apolyton until the Civ2 Scenario League migrated here. Then i got bored one day and wandered into the OT.

Was looking up strategy guides for IV. Kept returning for mods. Lurked a lot but rarely posted because...I'd rather game when I'm at a PC. Started posting more when I got this job since theres short periods of downtime where I'm looking to entertain myself with my phone. Got kinda bored with talking about VI, the strategy is pretty straightforward and easy so I wound up on OT for entertainment.

Played Civ IV on and off, and eventually decided that I needed to up a level of difficulty (or two) and came hunting for strategy guides, ideas, expertise.
Soon realised that I didn't have the ability/time/inclination (delete as appropriate!) to get to a particularly high level and drifted over to OT whilst exploring what else the site held.

Lurk much, much more than I post - mainly due to a) time (often here whilst at work waiting for stuff to run, and at home I have a family to occupy my time), b) lack of something to contribute that hasn't already been said, and c) you're all fairly cliquey (I mean that in a nice way, but understandably a lot of you 'know' each other very well from the many posts over the many years) and it can be difficult to jump into the middle of one of those threads.

Nice to see you post again. You can always just tell us about your weather or rave about good things in your life... :)

@Morty I wonder if anyone pays attention to who is lurking. I know I don't. :)

To lurk, or spy upon the lurkers? :mischief:

But who lurks for the lurkers?

you can also tell when my work is busy because even my lurking tails off!!
I'm more active here when I'm busy because lack of sleep and caffeination lowers my inhibition for posting. Busyness can also mean downtime waiting for stuff to run = lots of checking CFC

Aren't the lurkers by definition lurking for themselves? I'm more curious about who lurks for me.
Spoiler Lurker :

OT maybe late 2002, early 2003, 15 years old, because you could hit refresh and there would be 4 new posts and they were more intelligent, civil yet pointy than the rest of the internet.
