My mate (Darth Pugwash) told me about it. I hung around World history a while, and OT sucked me in. In the domino effect, humour, other games and this forum sucked me in as well. Now I only need sport to suck me in. Since I hate it, I dont think its gonna happen.

That time is getting more and more hazy. I was looking for a way to play a game of multiplayer Civ2. One thing led to another.

Was looking for some news on the upcoming release of Civ3, sometime in the middle of 2001... Can't remember exactly how I came upon CFC though...

I was looking for tips on how to play my new favorite game, Civilization 3.

I was Googling for "civ2 warez full retail download" and never found it, but I found this site instead :)

Don't get me wrong, I had Civ1 and Civ3 but neither had a multiplayer feature and that anoyed me no end! So I was trying Civ2 in the hope that this would have a multiplayer option and to buy it on ebay* was a out of the question.

Does it? I've still never played against a real person!

* Made a purchase there before, lost the money, never recieved my product

I also came from poly, probably directed by a link from there

I came here for the CIV2 modding.

But these days, I do my CIV2 work on CDG/Poly and keep CFC for it's engaging OT arena!

Civ 2 does have Multiplayer but you could always get the Conquests expansion pack for Civ 3 and then you could play Civ 3 multiplayer.

She was just sitting there on the side of the road, looking lost and lonely. I picked her up, took it home, and have taken care of her ever since.

Oh, I thought this was "How did you find your wife. . ."

I used to be rather active in another site, and while we appreciated CFC, it was too big for our little tastes. But then it went away, so I started coming here more. Now that I've been here a while, it's not as big or intimidating, and it fits me just fine.

I can't remember last week let alone 2 years ago :crazyeye:

I either found this site on Google (or another search engine) or through the Civ3 website. Can't remember which.

I was looking up Civ through search engines in early 2002 I believe. I thought it was a fairly good site but stopped playing Civ and didn't come back for a year. When I returned, in late Februrary of 2003 (also on a Google search), I discovered the forums and registered in early March. I lurked and posted occasionally in Civ3 General Discussions. Within a few weeks of joining, I discovered the demogame, and that's what has kept me on this site.

I was having problems with getting PTW to work, and whilst looking at Civ3.com (for help), there was a link to this site. Never looked back :D

Lots of people seem to have discovered CFC through Search Engines. Rather interesting, 'tis . . .
