There are other means of technological and economic stimulation (effectively war is simply a carte blanche for government to spend on public works; the other ways of getting to that point are less politically popular, but just as effective), and certainly other means of competition. Unless you particularly want to argue that the current era is one of technological stimulation. So that would make war neutral on that count.
 
Given your previous post, you must be ironic. But I must say the irony is completely lost on me...
It's pretty obviously my way of mocking the incredible stupidity of the OP, by having a go at Cheezy's four word response.
 
Oh come on...War is bad, it kills people, it burns stuff and wrecks lives. But without war, there would have been fight for a justice, for freedom, for what is right. There would be no WWII to stop a psycho to show the world that imperialism is bad, the right to rule oneself would be crushed, the establisment of democracy would be dismissed, the opress will remain opress, the persucueted will remain so. War sucks... War stinks. But it made the us and everything around us what we are today.

So in regards to the last 1 million wars in the last 6000 years of history. They were all needed to create this world.
