um...

IIRC once you talked about drugs and prostitution being awesome, I then commented about it and in the time between I quoted it and posted Birdjaguar delete parts of it and the he threatened me with a one week ban, but when we talked it over he realized I wasn't PDMA'ing intentional and everything became all nice

tl;dr if you get in trouble and you don't understand why the best thing to do is discuss it with the moderator, they are reasonable

I have posted that particular phrase numerous times, and to my knowledge have never been infracted for it. In fact, it was only after the 8th or 9th time that it was even deleted (as far as I'm aware) with no other action taken.

Just a question to the mods (Not intended to get Yared in trouble, in this case what he did seems fine) but is quoting mod tags considered PDMA?
It really depends. But if you really want to question a moderator action, even for clarification, it's best to PM the mod who made the action.
Also, stop discussing specific actions, that's not what this thread is for.
Indeed.
Moderator Action: If people feel the need to continue to discuss moderator actions, especially after warned to drop it, infractions will be handed out.

I'd rate 9/10.

Our moderators for the most part are very good, being very diligent about their work, enforcing the rules when they feel they've been violated, and they are also quite helpful. Not to mention they often have the patience of the saint - they'll go back and forth for hours from all the stories I've heard.

I can't imagine how much stress they must go through to not only enforce the rules, but also taking up all those other little tasks such as granting PM rights, answering questions, etc. Then they have to read EVERY single report and reason whether its infractable or not(I imagine many aren't) Not to mention posting as normal posters and not moderators!

Keep in mind that they do all this without pay! Mods should be able to claim their hours off their taxes as charity. ;)

The moderating is good for the most part. Posting in the gray area exposes some inconsistencies, but that is to be expected.

You're just saying that because they let you post your furry nonsense everywhere, for some reason. This is of course a primary reason why the moderating could use some improvement.

I think Bird's post was pretty important. Like many posters, I am sometimes frustrated with what I perceive to be a little heavy handedness by a few particular mods...one man's clever joke is apparently quite offensive to another mod, etc.

Given the alternatives though, I think we have it pretty good. I'd say 90% of our regular mods are excellent. They work hard, and given how much we whine in OT, its a pretty thankless job. I'd much rather have what we have now than anarchy on most forums.

That doesn't mean we can't STEP OUR GAME UP a little, but the overall quality is still quite good.

Well I have had at least 6 infractions and have even had a one week ban. Yet I deserved them. I hope I don't get in trouble for revealing that information but oh well. At least I admitted I deserved it! I am not really a good person and am of very low intelligance. I get very emotional and have ahuge ego. I however have neevr felt treated unfairly by the mods. They are strict and harsh but they need to be. At least this isn't Wikipedia where there is no such thing as smart people LOL.

I should be mad at you for insulting Wikipedia but your compliment saves you :p

Some articles are really well-written, with numerous sources and whatnot. The articles' qualities can vary so much that it's pointless to critique it as a whole.

I once tried making an article when I was 13. A moderator told me off.

Anyway, it's OT.

I could do a better job than some, but less so than the others.

As for "sprucing up" the site...? ;) I'd be AMAZING.

Poor.

Mods seem to be unable to handle trolls properly and that's why there is plenty of them here (compared to other forums where I am a member).

The thing is though that many trolls bring up valid, thoughtful points. Albeit in a badly formulated post. :(
