There's also when for example one colonizes South America and gets cores there and then forms Spain, you end up with Spanish Portugal or Spanish Castile.

Or when for example Cuba breaks free in Africa and then someone annexes it and the maps ends up with British Cuba in Sierra Leone.

Seriously, I lost as a native American even when cheating. Some people play this game way more hardcore than I do.

I've had Taira and Minamoto (though not unified Japan) conquer eastern Africa before. Surprisingly often, actually.

Another slightly odd sight was Austrian England in north Africa. You get some weird ones with cored colonies being conquered.

I don't think I'd try playing the Chimu... seems like a plan destined for failure.

Anyone got any tips for playing as Brittany? It seems like I can't do anything at the opoint I'm at without Aragon, England or France interventing (or a combination of more than one). This would not be a problem, were it not for the fact that Burgundy never wants to help me in wars.

I've taken all my cores, plus Munster.
