How is your EU3 Game going?

I just played a couple hours worth, and I worked myself out of the corner I was in. And it had nothing to do with guarantees (which is actually a call to arms I found out)!

There were two things that helped me out of this mess, 1) A King with stats of 6/7/7 and pure luck.

I of course went a head and didn't waste a second using a king of such great stats. I first hand, went and spammed royal marriages, most of which were successful because of the great diplomacy this guy could pull off. I was also able to secure the alliance of Poland, which would keep the best of Lithuania off my back.

And of course, with this spamming of royal marriages, I got a lot of very good results. I was able to inherit Pomerania, I got Georgia and Austria in a Personal Union under me, and of course I spread my dynasty. Though because I got Austria in a personal union, that means the HRE moved to Poland, which helped me even more.

The luck part of it came in when Lithuania got into a really nasty war with the Ottomans. Because of what vanilla HTTT did to the Ottomans, the beta patch they just released boosted them a crap load. And with that came a very formidable opponent. And for about 15 years, the Ottomans and Lithuania were in this very large back and forth war. And in that time I was able to attack Ryazan without any worries from Lithuania. The Golden Horde also warned me, but since they're always bogged down in revolts, they couldn't do anything to me.

So in those 15 years, I was able to whittle away both Novgorod and Ryazan until now, I basically own both (I still had to take down the last few chunks of Novgorod, but that shouldn't be too hard now). Lithuania ended up loosing the war with the Ottomans, and lost a good chunk of land. I should be able to take them down easily in the future.

And now that Eastern Europe is practically in my possession, my only goals (at least right now) are too form Russia, and to Westernize.

Post a map, ¡por favor! :D It would be epic to see the massive Russoblob and it's dependencies!

Don't know how to modify it to show other stuff, but: brown splodge above asia minor = vassal, as is, above greece, the lighter purple, the dark green (that goes northwards) the brown and the two below the brown. Translyvania is next (the creamy colour above greece, surrounded by my vassals on 3 sides :D)

Shift + F12 will show you and your vassals only :)

Thank you.

For now though, a better quality picture, mayhaps.

The stuff inside the black lines is me and my vassals.

Situation: I was sitting nicely at peace, when the Timurids and Mamelukes DoW'd me, along with a OPM. Quickly vassalised the OPM, moved on and had 2 Timurid provinces captured. Mame's were dieing, Naples came from the west, everyone else from the north down, all but 2-3 provinces on the sea were captured. Timurids decided to counter attack with ~40k soldiers, mame's brought up ~20k from the south. Fought a bit, but settled, taking one province from the lukes and 2 from the Timurids.

Recovered for about 6 months, attacked Hungary, Bosania, Ragusa. Vassalised the latter two, took all but two provinces of Hungary (Lithuania sneaked one, couldnt get the percentage for vassal. I had 97%!)

That was ok, but Castille, as defender of the faith, attacking Crete, Naples and coastal towns. Half managing to slow them down, not managing to destroy the armies, then Austria joins the party. ~40 austrians down through hungary.

Now Bohemia, the emperor's nation, is coming. All is quiet on the eastern front, so I'm bringing the vets of that campaign, about 60k of them. I'm still sitting at ~35k to reinforce, so its tough.

Any helpful pointers?

Is that GB in Sweeden and Denmark? and go for Finland next.

I've westernized and have started to colonize!

Also, Ming is hindu. Some lucky bastard force-converted them. That's great because almost all of their provinces is confucian and buddhist.

I'm allied with Ottomans, to prevent a war from persia. I have two countries under a PU; Baluchistan, the brown thing in afghanistan and Assam.

The Ottomans has really blobbed up. They took Portugals north provinces.
Spoiler :

You're that blue indian blob right?

Is that GB in Sweeden and Denmark? and go for Finland next.

No, that's Denmark, who eventually got inherited by Scotland (I love HTTT ).

And I decided to go after the Golden Horde next, with great success.

Though like 5 years after word Lithuania finally grew a pair an attacked me. They had twice the army that I had and there was no way I would be them conventionally. So I did what the Ruskies always did when someone invaded; I ran like a little girl while lighting everything behind me on fire. I've never used scorched earth before, and boy was it helpful. I scorched Novgorod and luckily they sent their main army there. They started out with a 20,000 man army, and 4 months later they got down to 4,000 men. So in that time I flanked them and took most of the provinces, and then went back and finished them off. That was a very satisfactory war :D

I'll post a map later.

Oh, and Love, that Otto-blob is nothing compared to the one in my game. I have a border with the Ottomans, in Pommerania.

Yeah but the good part is that I'm allied with them now :) If I keep a good relation with them, castille, england or portugal won't dare to declare war on me.

You're lucky, I have a delicious -200 relation with mine.

Now here's a nice map of my game so far.

Oh yeah, I have one question for Love; How do you get your map so big?

Can you put those big images in spoilers? And you're Sweden? That looks like an interesting new world.

Sure :)

Though I'm not Sweden, I'm Muscovy (though Sweden's one of my only allies).

Oh ya, I forgot about Muscovy. I just installed patch 1.3 and now all of the flags are black, everywhere not just above units head, but my relation, that button in the top left, everything.

Urrg! I've seemed to have worked myself into another corner! Well, actually, I haven't done anything, but the damn Ottomans have grown so large that there's nothing I can do to stop them.

Spoiler :

They have a larger army then me (153k vs. 120k) and they're more advanced (level 17 vs. level 11). And every time I get into a coalition war with them (i.e. I don't declare war, but I get a call to arms), every one of my neighbors decides to declare war on me too, making it impossible to do anything to the Ottomans. I can't declare war by myself, since I'm being warned by all my neighbors. I've even played out a scenario where they declare war on me, and all my neighbors still declare war on me! What do I do???

EDIT: By neighbors, I mean the Siberian/caucus nations, not my European neighbors.
