How is your EU3 Game going?

1519 I believe.

Is that Burgundy with a good chunk of eastern North America? And Milan in the Caribbean? Looks the same in the Old World to me, though.

The Ottoman Empire has once again expanded aggressively, reaching these boundaries by 1518:

The Mamluks have been absorbed, with my ally Tunisia getting Benghazi. The greater-than-historical expansion has come at a cost, though - more than 20 badboy, and yet another war with France and the Pope after making peace. That France is still a noticeably badder boy is little consolation; I'm wondering whether it was worth taking Tirol after all - thus far it's just caused a whole bunch of trouble.

Austria, predictably, got pretty much owned in the past decade. Hungary, Bohemia, Oldenberg, and even Friesland got chunks of Austrian territory, and rebels in Italy defected to Genoa. Poor Vienna is completely isolated. Needless to say this has been disastrous for the balance of power in central Europe. Muscovy, meanwhile, has gained a border with me, meaning I'm okay with Georgia's moderate expansion as a buffer state.

Of concern is lowering my badboy, with hopes to end the wars with powerful France, the massive land tech disparity between France and myself, and inflation. At 17%, my inflation isn't top-page in the ledger, but it is higher than that of anyone else who matters, unless you count the Khazak Horde as mattering, which they do regionally but not as a world power. Last Exceptional Year (-5% inflation, +gold) I got was promptly canceled by a Disastrous Fire (+4% inflation, -gold, or lose a manufactory). So I need to lower my spending a bit for a good while to let the other powers catch up with me in inflation, or I could be hurting in a couple centuries.

What's not shown: I got into an epic war with Muscowy and Poland over Finland. My initial advances got raped by a 50,000 strong army of Muscowy's. Poland then slipped in and started besieging all of my territories. However I split their army in half by moving my navy into the sund. From there I mobilized my forces and completely decimated the Polish. I was in the process of occupying their territory when the game ended. I plan to take their Lithuanian provinces from them.

Additionally I am now mobilizing a 30k strong army to combat Muscowy who is unable to get to me or the occupied Finnish provinces (Novgorod won't grant them access). I have a good 3 or 4 military tech levels on them and my generals are rather beastly so I hope to be able to defeat them given some time.

Here is a Muscovy>Russia game I played some weeks ago until I got bored in the early 1700s. I wanted to test creating a GIF but am a little bit disappointed because my western border does not change much and so it does not look as cool as I imagined. I also should have used the console to discover the whole map for the early screenshots. Actually I wanted to do a screenshot every five years but the filesize is already 3 MB with shots every 25 years.

Very interesting thread, just spent the last half an hour going through it :goodjob: I noticed that infamy isn't one of the icons at the top of the screen.. in the top left corner, where it usually appears. Is this a mod?

I believe the game is pre-HttT

I joined that club

Although frankly the beginning was more interesting. When he started going world conquest I sort of skipped huge parts just to see how it ended.

Yeah I started skipping a lot of pages at the end too. I blame it on the westernization part, because as soon as he had westernized and had gotten a foot on the ground in europe(in Iberia ofcoarse:D) it was basically just another game of a player beating the crap out of everyone.

But it was also more because of the starting moves and how he managed to get from A to B: staying away from europeans, managing bad sliders and dealing with a lot of dangerous rebellions(no forts makes the rebels a lot more serious) and how to turn a very bad position into a winning one. That I wanted to post the link to Warpus.

Love: I'm sorry;) all I can say is that I read it in one sitting:crazyeye:

It seems that the fifth beta patch for DW is all messed up. I got all sorts of crazy stuff happening. The advisor menu is ruined by overlapping gfx, and i got a truce with someone 1 day after i declared war on them (and of course i did not ask for a truce either)...
Also the options for going to war do not show up correctly.

I think it was not a problem with my own installation, but anyone else tried the latest patch?

Aargh I can't play EUIII Complete anymore, the game crashes as soon as it initializes maplogic`!
I know this isn't the thread, but you guys know EUIII longer than me, so what should I do? I got it via steam.
On topic tho:
I have to  at chegel's game's position of Jalayirids. In India :p

It's working fine for me.
Did you try re-downloading it? The first version was messed up so they re-uploaded it.

Where can I find the installation directory?

I am not sure because you wrote you got it on steam but look for something like "...\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\" and see if there is a folder named Paradox Interactive or Europa Universalis.
