How is your EU3 Game going?

Well, you don't hear me complain about ugly borders, but I do think it would be for the best if the game discouraged to some degree noncontiguous borders. It just looks messy to see random provinces scattered inside someone else's land.

In one game where Austria blobbed hard, Spain inherited three-province Hungary, leaving them with an enclave within Austria which they actually kept for a while before Hungary revolted.

No, I cannot engage in any active role in the world yet because my army is still pathetic. All I did was forming some royal marriages. Stupid France declared holy war against me in 1526 and brought their friends Burgundy, Aragon and Bohemia... There was not much I could do but I got away with a cheesy peace treaty by removing some SoIs... And I had to reload twice. At least France lost its one province in Africa and can no longer declare holy war.

I got rid of some other Europeans by sponsoring native insurrections and colonized the coast myself which worked quite well but is expensive as hell. Only problem is the Castillian province in Morocco which gives them the holy war CB.

And in 1549 they declared war and my military situation hasn't improved much. At least I have some manpower now after building armories everywhere but my tech is still far behind. I guess in 25 to 50 years my economy might become strong enough to finally allow some research and a large enough army to get me in a position to fight European armies. If only I can get away one more time without losing my vulnerable coastal colonies.

I hope to fuel my economy by the Prospering Times and Agricultural Revolution events but far too many provinces got slaves instead of grain for my liking...

My Milan > Italy Game in 1538.

Annexed Tuscany when they joined a war against me early on, vassalized Genoa and Ferrara in a war where my ally, the Papal States, refused to join. Vassalized the Papal States in a war immediately after that one. Castille took Ancona, but I managed to beat them in a war and force them to release Urbino, which I subsequently forger claims on and enforced a personal union. Inherited them about 15 years before Rome cored in 1499, and formed Italy. Vassalized either peacefully of through war all the Italian minors, and now I have all my cores except Friuli (owned by Aquileia, my vassal) and Istria (Austrian).

Unfortunately, France has become one of the strongest countries I've ever seen (their army is about the size of mine and Austria's combined), but I've stayed on good terms with them. Apart from the time when they got a stupid mission to "restore the Holy See" (meaning they had to take Rome), and I was forced to load it up as France and cancel the mission.

I have colonized a few islands in the Antilles and a chunk of Brazil, the only other colonizer thus far being Portugal. Russia formed, Britain will be forming in 20 years, and Scandinavia will also form if they can take Oslo from Austria. Netherlands and Spain both almost formed until their dreams were dashed by France.

Hungary got some bad religious revolts, to the point where they had a bunch of random provinces defect to the Papal States and Aquileia (defeder of the Protestant faith).

Nice ;)

1. Was Byzantium your doing?
2. Iberia :| Look at "Spain"
3. It seems GB has formed already
4. Bavaria (behind the form Russia box)
5. I see Vijayanagar is not doing so horrible either ;)

Nope, i did nothing :) They grew on their own. They used to have most of the greece, but then all mighty Austrians came... I think i will try to forge alliance with them and try to help to drive Austrians out.

Underneath the word prestige... Is that Ulm?

It is better than playing Byzantium :p

It is pretty amazing...
