How many countries can you name?

I got 167 by missed some major countries like Colombia, Venezuela because they were covered up..

I think I would have done OK if I could spell worth a damn. I know there's a country called Ecuador, but I can't spell it without spell check. Same with a lot of others.

Talk about forgetting some obvious ones....

To be fair to myself, I wasted a lot of time trying to spell Kyrgyzstan, Ecuador (glad I'm not alone on that one. I kept trying to spell it with a 'q') Liechtenstein (I kept trying to spell it like Roy Lichtenstein) and Honduras (which for some reason I kept wanting to add another 'u' into). I remembered Bosnia in the last 10 seconds as well, but couldn't nail Herzegovnia's spelling.

I thought about putting Kosovo in, but I tried Western Sahara first and when that didn't work, I didn't bother.

I did the European version of the quiz and embarrassingly forgot Malta, Cyprus and Switzerland! I did however remember most of Eastern Europe and all of the micro-states :D

Same thing happens here, I try to remember all the small countries and how to spell them (Especially Liechtenstein and I forget the major easy countries. )

Maybe it's because I'm British, but Costa Rica isn't obvious to me. Switzerland is though!

I just considered it obvious because it isn't a microstate or one of those islands whose independence I'm not even sure of. After trying the Cayman Islands and getting it rejected, I basically gave up on the Caribbean.

Mexico, Japan and Indonesia are the three I'm really ashamed I missed.

St Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, St Vincent & Grenadines, Barbados, St Lucia etc.

Playing Pirates helps out there :D

I only got 91, but there were at about two dozen I kept trying to spell over and over. There were also some obvious ones like Ireland which I just had not gotten to when time ran out because of my attempts to spell harder ones right.

Tried it again, and got 193/195, which is what I got last time.

Can't believe I missed Madagascar. Obviously because they closed their port.

Surprised you missed Samoa actually. Maybe it's just me, but that is always the first country in the Pacific I remember...

It must be the Samoan girl scout cookies....

I tried it again after not having done the quiz in like 6 months, I got 189/195.

Missed Monaco, St. Lucia, Tuvalu, Samoa, Micronesia and Albania.

I have a strategy with this now I have noticed. Americas first, finishing with the Caribbean, try to remember all the islands you can, than go to Oceania, do all the islands you can remember, than do Asia, Africa (starting from South Africa upwards) and finally Europe. Then spend the remaining 5 minutes remembering the damn Oceanic and Caribbean islands which are at the back of your head. :p

I got Kiribati in literally the last 2 seconds. Usually Samoa and Tuvalu come to me and I forget Nauru, Kiribati, Tonga and Vanuatu. Similarly with St. Lucia, I usually get St. Lucia and forget Grenada or Antigua & Barbuda.

Also I swear, I tried Barbuda about 15 times before I realized it was Antigua and Barbuda.

I was a bit surprised by missing Samoa as well, since its one of the "bigger" of the South Pacific island countries.

Forgot Belize, Burkina Faso, UAE and Malawi.

So very true.

I'm hopeless at all those African countries. Hell, if I can't even remember Switzerland, I'm sunk. :(

Yep. That's the one problem with this. They don't highlight the countries that you already picked and they don't put the labels in the right place. I know I wasted a lot of time typing countries I already typed, because there's no way to remember if you already did them and it takes longer to look and see than to just type the name.

You should know all their names without even looking at the map. ;)

Yah, I don't even look at the map anymore. I do Americas without a second thought (until I get to the Caribbean anyway :p) as well as Europe. Asia I look at the map but that is just to make sure I don't miss any in between. (Like Tajikistan or Bhutan or Jordan or something). Europe I do without a second thought as well. Africa I look at the map just to see I don't miss any either, but I can picture Africa (and Asia) in my head.
