It's archaric, in 10 years they'll all be LEDs , more light for less
power, you'll only use light bulbs in yer easy bake oven.

archaric isn't a word, it is archaic. Also, the correct way to indicate possession in the second person is the use of the word "your" instead of "yer".:D

You should always begin a new sentence with the first letter capitalized. ;)

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has
been changed ....

Yeah, right, but how many lurkers does it take to change a dark bulb?

au moins, nous on comprend la langue de Molière ! Nah ! :p

Ha! La belle affaire, ca! Le francais est la langue maternelle des fous. :p

Just kidding, Marla...

Hehe, I remember this exact same thing from H&J. Truly hilarious. But one questions: Where was this lightbulb made? I would not wanna change just any lightbulb, it has gotta be Canadian made, eh?

:). Well, I was kidding too and I'm sincere, the "nah" behind is here to prove how childish I was. Maybe in the US, kids don't say "nah" all the time, but in France they do. So I was simply making fun of my stupidity.

Unfortunately, each time I make fun of my stupidity, people believe I'm not kiddin' and that I'm just a hatemonger.

Ok... I got it, we can't be ironic on forums... :( *snif*

No, irony, sarcams, wit, etc. do not seem to resonate well over these Forums. I have discovered this several time, which is why I usually put false ending tags, like [/sarcasm], [/humour], or whatever, to indicate sarcams, etc. Kinda a pity, that people do not really know what you mean, unless they know you well . . .

We could never change a light bulb because we are all on the Internet and are too damn lazy to get up and change the damn thing!

How very true. No substitute in the end for face-to-face communication to eliminate misunderstandings and add needed space for nuances. Found out that age of the responder is a major factor too!

You can't use just any Canadian lightbulb. It's gotta be CSA approved, eh?

Now, what wattage are we looking at? (Yes, I know that wattage isn't a word, and also that if it was the 'w' would be capitalized. Well, what if I like making up words and not capitalizing them, eh? Did you ever stop to think about that? Did you? Blasted grammar Nazis. Oh, and I'm not even going to end this with a period or a bracket (notice I didn't say parentheses

I'd say aboot 120.

Eh. :p

What's the connection like on your light bulbs? I seem to remember the bulbs having a screw (which is also possible here) but many do not have a screw... they have two connections and a spring in the socket which must be depressed before the bulb can be "unlocked".

I say we opt for one of those, at least in the short term. Should we hold a democratic vote?

In the long run there are better technologies so we should not rule out replacing the fittings ;)

I'll vote for one only if it's solar-powered.

[Defeats the purpose, I know. A little thing I like to call "satire"]

You mean a sun roof or sky light!? ;)

Unless it was the lightbulb or whatever that is in our computer monitor. We WOULD change that in a hurry. And I am perfectly willing to change one of the free Halogen light bulbs that BC Hydro gave away, and my Dad got a whole bunch of. We have like 20 in our basement, all from promotions. And ya, CSA Approved. Speaking of light bulbs burning out, I just realized one in my room has died. Shoudl replace it one of these millenia . . .
