How many unversities have rejected you?

Well, in real life downtown and I are hardly typical Mormons, but we are the face of the Church here, so . . .

I understand completely. I am equally amused and depressed when someone from Utah moves out here and is astonished to see that we're not all heathens.

You mean all Mormons aren't as cool as you two?

Also, you with Erik Mesoy's avatar 'n stuff has really messed with my head.

"Is it Erik? Let's see...sig, check; avatar, check; post content, check; let's look at the user name...well, the first word starts with E and has four letters, so that's good enough for me!

...wait, that's not Erik! It's Eran! :run:"

Seriously, you're confusing me. :(

Was rejected by the University of Puget Sound. Was wait listed on a couple others (Oglethorpe University and one other one, I think). Was accepted by some nine or ten others. Obviously accepted to the place I'm graduating from in May, Pace University.

I was rejected from every high school I applied to since I also took the test for the "competitive high schools" and made the score for two of the three. So the other places felt free to reject me for it because of the silly quotas the schools had on how many people with certain grades could be accepted if they weren't "zoned" for that school.

You need to apply to universities?

I walked in the admin building door at Arizona, plunked down cash (well, actually a VA voucher), and they said get in that line to get your ID.

Applying next year.

Sorry for a bit of a thread-jack: Which should I apply to if i want to double-major in theoretical physics and electrical engineering?

That reminds me, what do universities and colleges do in regards to Adult students? (The ones that go to college at a later age)

None. I only applied to one.
oh im so smart mommy

Treated like regular students, Gen. Surprise.

I didn't apply to university.

I went through "classes préparatoires" to try the exam entry for "Grandes Ecoles".

You have one week of written exams, a good part of the people are eliminated, other goes for a second round of oral exams, and then the best marks can select their school first.

Some schools have an independant exam, some are grouped.

I succeeded the exams for ENAC (French Civil Aviation University, the one I selected), the ENSIETA (French "arms" school to learn how to build tanks, planes, ships...), and a common exam with 30 schools, but my marks were average, and I could have selected the most popular ones.

I applied to two and got into both. It's not common in Switzerland to not be accepted to a University.

The requirements are basically the same for every University, and if you fullfill those, you're in; otherwise not. Unless you apply really late there's usually no problem getting into a Uni.

Most universities have separate programs for adults - some sort of "continuing education" program. Usually these programs are focused on a specific field, rather different from what a 4-year bachelor's degree program typically looks like. I'm not sure what basis a university would have for admitting a 40 year old into its regular 4-year program. High school grades and SAT scores from 20 years ago probably aren't going to help an adult be admitted alongside a bunch of 18 year olds, which is not to say that adults can't take classes alongside regular students if they are admitted to the continuing education program. I remember seeing a few in my Uni days.

To the OP: I applied for early admission to one school (U. of Chicago) and was accepted.

Applied to six english universities, got rejected by Cambridge (after I flew in for an interview :() and accepted by the other five.

Then decided to stay here in Munich to study where I didn't have to run past any selection prosess.

Uh? In here it's pretty simple.. if you meEt the prerequisites, you apply, and your accepted. If you don't, you don't apply.

So I applied to one university and knew from the start I,de be accepted

Accepted (conditionally) in Asian Studies at the University of Montreal.
later Rejected in Creative Writing at Concordia University.
still later Accepted in business management (certificate) at both McGill University and the HEC School.

Now waiting for my application to a Master in International Business to be accepted or rejected.

Anyways if you complete a certificate in business management with nice grades (like avg 3 and higher) you're gonna be automatically accepted in the Major in International business and all the classes you will have passed will be credited :goodjob:.

I said Master's, not Major, Rhymes ;-)

Ooops!!.. WTH is a major anyways? Does it exist in english universities in Montreal?

Edit: Master = Maitrise... right?
Major = ???

Concentration of study. Basically what you'll be getting your degree in, should you finish with it.

I think they are called faculties in Canada.
