Speaking of Oreos..

My babe ruth baseball team (years ago) was name the Orioles. Yes we weren't that good (in the name ya know?) and they spelt are shirts as the "Oriloes"

:hmm:

random?

Lets go Oriloes, let go! *clap**clap* :p

Well, I volunteered to help Matrix out with the GOTM scoring, to automate the way that the scores are extracted from the save files rather than have to manually complete each game. Carried on helping with the GOTM staff, then when cracker wanted to retire, TF asked me if I'd take over.

And for the GOTM staff, we look for people who are mature, contribute to the GOTM forum (participate in spoiler discussions, help people, behave, generally being helpful). If we feel we need more staff, we run it past TF.

BTW, we have enough at the moment, and they're a great team. :)

Alright alright, since you guys are so curious... :p

In the case of the Collosseum, when there're openings (either fr adding more mods or someone resigning), we will put up a list of suggested candidates (suggested by all mods). We'll go thru each one and make a judgement. Also look back a few hundred posts of each one to get a feel of his/her posting history and habit. The candidates are also usually asked if they're interested. The prospective mods are then finalized upon. A final call is made, to see if any single existing mod objects. If not, congrats and we have our new mods.

In the game sections, we also put forth a list of suggested candidates and go thru each. The potential mods here also usually have a history of being helpful in the game forums generally, and some game knowledge. They're asked, and a final decision is made. As again, a last call is made if anyone objects. If not, there you have it.

Note that these procedures only apply fr the time col and I were being selected as the new Colloseum mods...

As for new subforums, we usually see if any of the existing mods are interested first...

Hopefully, this will settle the subject once and for all. :p

Are the same people often suggested? Also how many rejections take place to find a willing candidate?

So all mods are chosen by the same guy? Is that the reason why they are widely conservative? :D

Huh? Mods widely conservative? Well, I guess Nico was not around here about a year ago ;)

Usually, when we suggest someone, we have a good idea that he or she will accept...

Since new openings for mods don't happen everyday, we don't do mod suggestions all that often. How many times have there been new mods in the OT? ;)

Well I could go through the list but since I've been here there was first (well probably not first but this is as far back as I go) AoA and Lefty, and then for some reason the mods just kept multiplying... :scan:

I am to lazy to read the whole thread so I skimed the first page.
Based on what some of you are saying, you act like you don't wanna be a moderator, so if you say "I wanna be a moderator" it's not gonna work. In that case, TF, I don't wanna be a moderator! ;)
And some of you are saying you can't break the rules if you wanna be a moderator, so it's too late for me! :( ;)

We figured we needed more mods to police the wild country that was the OT... <shrugs>

Considering on a 'normal' weekday, there's like 30-40 people browsing in the OT at any one time, six mods is hardly a large number...

We also don't want whiney-sounding, lazy ones who can't be bothered to read thru the whole thread. :p

Mod dignity, you know...

No. Within Staff, we're fairly humorous... And some of us carry on outside it.

While performing official duties though, of course we've to act serious, in order to be taken seriously. Like you don't restrict someone, and then add a :p in the post...

You don't show it :p .#

Anyway, I remember someone ressurected an old thread in humour, that Lefty had made. He sure changed a lot.......
