How much beer can you drink?

I too thought this would be a manly drinking thread
To me it just is one.

Well, beer is not exactly the right drink to get trashed on, for that liquor has to be it, given certain chronical stomach issues. Beer is drunk for the taste, no matter what that New Yorker infidel said.

Nevertheless, "in my youth" I drank 5 liters an evening without much problems, as it were usually 0.33 ones that came down to 15.

Nowadays I mostly don't drink more than 3 liters and switch to other stuff instead.

Oh, I normally drink 5-10 beers and then sometimes some jenever (Belgian/Dutch drink that's the ancestor of gin) when going out.
But I do play 10 hours of soccer a week and ride 200km on my bike. That keeps the belly away ;)

Ummm... How old are you, again?

Two buddies and I knocked off about four cases a couple nights way back when, so no more than a few sixpacks in a night, for me.

This article helps depict quite how senseless our supposedly great capitalist system is . Reading stuff like this makes me wish the Cold War went the other way and the Commies had won. One lot bumped you off in a gulag where no one could see you, the other just makes people behave like animals before they die a death infront of your very eyes (tv sets).

"makes"? Commercial advertising encourages behavior, but does not mandate it.

I prefer scotch. Vodka is ok, but it can be dangerous. Ive woken up in some pretty weird places after too much vodka. Rum? Blech. Its sissy water for guys who cant handle real booze. No offense CG;) I have every confidence you'll outgrow this rummy phase. Imagine me as your dad?

Mrs Erectus: Oh my God Bozo, look what I found in CG's room(holds up bottle of rum)! Why is our baby doing this to himself?

Me: Oh no! After everything Ive taught him. I thought he was going down the right path. I was proud of the boy (sob). But now this! Rum! Ive told him to drink nothing but scotch or vodka! Where did we go wrong??

Bozo, if you were my dad, I'd be drinking rum, too.

Come folks can't the Camaroonians have a little fun too? At least they're not drinking and Range Roving. Drinking is a social thing and makes for good fun and stories. Maybe it's just me but things always get a little more interesting after a few...

FWIW Stella and Chimay rock!

you prefer hard liquor to beer, cause you dont like the taste of alcohol in beer?
It makes perfect sense to me. Liquor is fiery poison; beer is nauseating. I tend not to feel liquor in my stomach, except for a pleasant warmth - but every sip of beer, to me, gets me more nauseous than it's worth.

I'm not necessarily a rum man. Rum, whiskey, vodka, gin - that stuff is especially fiery, should not be drank straight - anything with a proof over 70 is good with me.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many African beers you can find, especially in cities like Washington D.C.

I don't drink beer, but I saw it advertised on a free Washington map given away in the hotel lobby.

Well my record was only 12 beers, but I was young and foolish then (15).
I have since stopped drinking beer for which I was almost excomunnicated from society of good honest beer-drinking Czech high-school students.

Well, that's good ;)

My records isn't that high, probably because I mixed it with countless tots of 80% slivovitza ;) :D

The results were so terrible, that I've radically reduced my liquor consumption. I was young (about 16) and stupid, but it is important to learn some lessons early ;)

Not that good... it took me about eight hours to do so.
Query. What about time the beer is drank in?
It is not so hard to make twenty beers ifyou got whole day of partying for it. Or if you are worker at an atomic powerplant (beer is protective drink thanks to it many ions).

Well, I mean during one evening/night party.

Twenty bears per day if you have bečku (what's the english word? Barrel?) is not so much, especially in summer ;)

Well barrel is useable, for I think cask is too small... anyway in doubt use this slovnik.cz.

And don't talk to me about that, few months ago we got tap for our country house and now it looks we could get quantity discount for barrels of beer . That is unless we start brewing our own.
