It is all a choice, my dear chap.

I have no time for smoking or drinking, but it is up to the person whether they indulge.

AKA poppers, available in sex shops (apparently it loosens the rectum).

It makes you go red faced (blood rushes to head) and flushed, but giggly. DO NOT TRY AND JUMP UP AND DOWN AFTER SNIFFING AMYL NITRATE! Do not try and read Viz either ;)

i once accidentally drank poppers.

i cant remember anything, but apparently i just sat there motionless, saying nothing for a few hours.
couldnt taste or smell a thing for days.

How can you accidently drink them? it's not like they come in a coke can!

Between half a dozen and a lot, lot more, exclusive of cigars and pipe.

I can smoke a few cigarettes if I've been drinking. Without liquor, I can't smoke.

As for the other stuff? Provided it was legalized, probably a couple bowls a week with friends.

Half a pack a day. But that's only because we dont get too many breaks at work.

1-2 packs if im drinking tho.

Sigh, let me spell it out: being more consentrated is not of detriment to your mental health. Being stoned is.

Have you any conclusive proof that smoking cannabis is detrimental to the average adults mental health?

Last I heard the real danger with cannabis and psychosis was to teens (as the brain is still developing at that age) and those with pre-existing mental illnesses. Even with those two large groups included, cannabis psychosis is pretty rare.

Right now, about 6-7 cigs a day, if I'm not drinking. But they are rolled ones, and I'm not so good with rolling (read: terrible), which is why they are actually lighter than normal cigarettes (physically lighter too - they simply have less tobacco inside the paper).

The most I've ever smoked regularly was half a pack a day (10 a day), but that was bad for me and I've cut down intentionally. I should mention that every time I wanted to stop smoking for a while, or to reduce my smoking, I've managed to do it without too much of a problem (example: I'm sick, my throat hurts, I say "no cigarettes this week" and I actually don't smoke any during this time). :) I'm certainly planning to quit at some point, but I'm not sure if this is gonna happen before I finish my bachelors here in Ddorf. Until then, I make regular mind exercises by abstaining from various things, including smoking, and I seem to be doing pretty well. I'm actually afraid of quitting now because everyone around me smokes, so if I stop and then fall into temptation and relapse, I'm never getting out of the downwards spiral. ;)

Anyone born after, oh, say 1980 or so, and willingly chooses to smoke, is a fool.

Or even before that.

In an attempt to play devils advocate I've been trying to figure out a circumstance where you would be better off to smoke. Maybe if you were to get the sum of all the free time spent on smoking breaks at work it would surpass the free time lost from most likely dieing sooner. :dunno:

Never smoked. Never will.
