How much approximately? Divide with the number of people in your household to show how much the cost is for each person.
Do you follow any guidelines when buying, like the cheaper - the better, don't trust the cheap labels, only eco-food, no prefabricated, no canned, only "national meat" or similar?

Tough to say. I went with 200, but I have a 14 year old boy at home. I'm surprised he hasn't tried to eat the dog yet.

I eat three ramen packages a day. That's about $0.45 per day.

And that costs you 350 per month? How many people in your house... 500?

600 per person. We cook a lot at home but we get fancy with our cooking (my girlfriend was training to become a professional chef for a few years but decided that cooking professionally would jeopardize her cooking at home. Burnout sucks.) Cooking for us is more like a hobby than anything else. Some people work on cars, others make music, we cook (and play computer games)

~$400 for just me.

I don't buy any prepackaged meals, and buy everything in bulk, making heavy use of my deep-freeze. Most foods, I buy the cheap labels, as they're comparable (especially since I'm mostly just buying ingredients to make my own food), but for some stuff I have to splurge for name-brand. (Store brand tomato juice sucks)

I'm active, so aim for about 4000 calories/day.

Most fruits and vegetables I buy fresh... frozen fruits and vegetables are my backups. I get canned pineapple for my pizza, and canned tomatos and tomato paste for my pasta sauce.

Could probably save a whole bunch of money by cutting out certain things (I spend ~$100/month on milk, also love the maple syrup and hazlenut butter), but it would decrease my quality of living, so I don't see the point.

Never buy eco-food, it costs more for what's essentially the same product to me.

Unfortunately my favored breakfast is Cap'n Crunch slathered with 1/4 cup of 000 grade beluga caviar. I call it the "Cap'n Ahab", and spend many thousands of dollars each morning preparing it for myself and my 9 kids.

I have spend almost exactly 100USD on food this month thus far. It will probably be something in the area of 150USB by the end of the month. (Food is taxed with 7% in Germany)

Veggies and fruits have to be fresh, but i don't mind eating prepackaged meals once in a while. I don't intentionally buy eco-food.

Too much because i'm too lazy to make packed lunchs for work and end up getting takeaways or goign to supermarkets and spending way more than I should.

Let's see.. I go to the grocery store probably every 3 weeks or so.. sometimes 2, sometimes a month.. I'll probably spend $150 on average a month buying groceries.

Sometimes I'll buy lunch @ work, and I'll eat out from time to time.. so I'm going to have to estimate $220 a month on food for me. That's about $200 in american money.

 Shame Price Rite doesn't have a cheap brand of caviar?

I spend about $200 with nutritional supplements included, though I aim for $150.

I spend roughly 250$/month including occasional lunches out, closer to 200$ without. I avoid the cheapest labels, only Swedish meat, mostly fowl, no prefabricated and I avoid pork.

The taxes on food here is 12%.

I guesstimating at around USD 600.-- for my wife, daughter and me.

I voted ~$100 before remembering to take into account restaurants.

Anyways, all that is going to change in 2 weeks - I will be buying for two but also presumably adding more variety (I end up buying the same stuff every time) and more made-from-scratch than just frozen food.

I voted ~200$ but that doesn't include eating at restaurants so it's probably closer 250$ with the occasional restaurant visit.
