Human v2

Consider this, if I connected my brain to an artifical nural-like network and allowed chemical and eletrical signals to travel between them, then waited two days, and stoped my heart so that my organic brain died. Would my concisousness still be "alive"?

Everything - meaning life or death, figuratively as well as literally - depends on how the artificial neural-like network actually works. By which I mean, not just at the level of outward behavior and speech, but at the detailed level of causality: how information is taken in, mechanisms of its transfer, etc.
 
One point I had with the video: they seem to define a "Singularity" as the time when we have computers as powerful as the human brain. That's not the term I've seen; the term I've seen is what happens after humans make an intelligence which is smart enough to figure out to make itself more intelligent (I personally don't know if we're smart enough to do that).

Considering the 'pro-augementation/advancement' turnout in this thread, I'd think that more people would be more active in bringing about this future.
