I am stopping here because first off, do we switch to Monarchy? Second, out of all the days this week, today had to be bad. I don't want to rush this, but I also don't want you guys to wait to play.

EDIT: Our culture is horrible so we may want to think about switching to monarchy and getting some libraries going. Don't forget to MM the towns when they reach 5-6.

Roster
Barbslinger -up (feel free to take the turns I never took)
Mauer - on deck
Sesn
GRS

I don't think it will be a big deal to wait if you can get to this tomorrow.

I generally prefer Republic, but it would be nice to get out of despotism before the GA.

There's no way we can compete with the ai's for culture. Don't worry about it unless it is to solidify our borders. Once Greece is gone, we can play without fear of flips.

I'm guessing we didn't have decent city to build TGL in since you traded it around?

I would say go ahead Loco. As you can see, you are the only one I think, not playing at least a handful of either SG's or PBEM.

I am heading to work right now and I have to work from 8-5 tomorrow. I will just let Barbslinger take it.

As for the Glibrary, no I didn't see a city that I deemed appropriate for it. Plus, it would take away one of our worker factories. By the time we got the G. Library (provided that the other continent doesn't already know literature) we could be easily to education.

Well, would it be a good idea to get our money back then? Don't know how much they would buy it for but......these 2 have money.
England 282g
Sumeria 119g

I was getting ready to look at the save and noticed something funny. GRS ends at 750BC and then Loco had 4 turns and his save is 650BC. Wait a minute, Ah the turns are every 20 years after 750 so Loco should have played until 550BC. I'll play his last 5 and my 10 to get it to 350BC.

ICDB – 650BC

Preturn- There is an uprising where the settler is heading so I have to watch for that sending a Gallic to escort. The workers roading a second iron mountain I can’t agree with all the other infra needs we have. Too bad the galley sank near Sumeria. I’m looking forward to meeting the others. Greece peace is over in 5 so I’m hoping for Repub luck. On that note research goes to 50% for CoL in 12. Do some MM and away we go.
IT – August-Gallic> Worker and growth in 2.
[1] 630 – Move the settlers and rush a galley for 18 shields. One more settler and that is that for a while. Another scientist gets CoL in 10.
IT- Ent-Wkr> Wkr, Lapurdurm – Galley> Galley for now. Eng start MoM.
[2] 610 – Not to much, workers working.
IT – An English settler pair is in our southern tundra. Lots of builds.
[3] 590 – Throw a partial block on settler pair. Galley heads to the blue.
IT – Build a worker and a Gallic. Entremont goes to temple so that it can get over 6 pop soon.
[4] 570 – Galley makes first leg to Sumeria and is 1 tile from coast. Still trying to block Greece.
[5] 550 – CoL in 5 and Greece may be ripe for hitting again. England has CoL and Sumeria has cash. Galley sunk and the backup galley I had has to back off due to barbs.
[6] 530 – Build 3 towns. 2 in the tundra and 1 in the far NW. Trade 160g and 13gpt for CoL, sell it to Sumeria for 3gpt and 100g. Republic at single scientist.
[7] 510 – Tell Alex to get out of our territory. Galley survives 2 attacks.
[8] 490 – England founds Coventry in the far south.
[9] 470 – Galley sinks again. 2 more coming up in 4 turns. Another Galley sets sail E off the English coast.
[10] 450 – Galley makes it through near England and continues seeing nothing but ocean.
[11] 430 – Galley makes it again and spots a border. Build a temple near the front with 2 chops. Swapping the single science around to various cities. We have 10% lux now making 33gpt and 379 in the bank. Germany is now in the southern tundra too.
[12] 410 – Woo-Hoo! Contact Arabia who has currency up on us. There is a greek warrior posted up on one of our iron mountains so war will be easy after the gov change.
[13] 390 – Looks like Greece may be getting antsy as a few troops are seen moving to the front.
[14] 370 – Well, England has Republic, we can now get currency from Sumeria or Arabia, and Greece has invaded our borders. Looks like partial despotic GA. Greeks do declare war when told to leave. Here comes the GA. We lose a vet Gallic to a sword in the forest next to Tolusa. Kill him with an elite. Kill the warrior on the mountain with an elite, cover him with a vet and kill a warrior near Ratae. We then take the better deal in Sumeria of currency for 20gpt and 250g. England gives us republic for currency, 22gpt and 60g. We can get chump change from Abu for Republic but I would wait until we meet his neighbors. Pop to Anarchy and we get 2 turns. Move 5 gallics towards the Knossos horse town. Fix all cities for anarchy and I think I read I play my set out. I’ll take a save here just in case.
[15] 350 – Shuffle troops and now wait on the rotten apple.

Nice set, Barb. Does the currency trade put us into the MA?

Lucky that we only drew two turns of anarchy.

If I understand right, Microbe will advance to the next turn, do his deed, and pass to Mauer. Let's see how rotten he feels today.

I press enter and get into the new turn.

IBT: spear redlines but kills an archer. Lugdunum riots and anarchy ends.

The timing couldn't be more perfect to do one thing..

I'll let you find out what happened. I didn't do the most evil thing ever. :)

SAVE@330BC

For lurkers, this is what I did.

Roster
Barbslinger
Mauer - up (make sure you take the bad apple's save)
Sesn - on deck

I should have never traded for monarchy.

At least our bad apple has a sweet side to him or he would have put us back into despotism.

Here is the map...

I can see where the skip over to the next turn really favors the bad apple. I got tricked into making that rule accectable by the rottenest apple of them all.

Well, Monarchy isn't so bad. You feeling OK, Microbe? ;)

I would suggest staying in it for the remainder of the GA, at the very least.

As for the rule, it is the only fair way to give the bad apple the most options. Otherwise we could just skip the turn for every unit, effectively cancelling the option to disband units. It was merely a strange coincidence that the anarchy ended exactly on his oppurtunity.

Do we still have the pump churning settlers? The Greek cities don't seem worth the flip risk, and slaves can build roads too.....
