German troops also push forward in the East, despite lying to the Polish and Russians about wanting to avoid a war!
The Polish leadership has gone into exile to avoid execution at the hands of the Nazis. However, they managed to issue a statement to the press. That statement was as follows:
Polands worst fears of a Nazi invasion were realized, but we horribly underestimated the depths of cruelty and evil to which they could sink. Despite assurances that they had no plans continue their unwarranted assault on Poland, the Nazi army continues to flow into Poland - an unstoppable river of death destroying all that it encounters. Already, nearly a quarter of a million civilians have been killed in air raids on Warsaw alone.
The way Mr. Hess gleefully boasts of his deception and his lies to peaceful, civilized nations such as ours, should serve as a clarion call to all nations that believe they can conduct honest diplomatic discussions with him. Even those nations Germany calls its friends should be on their guard, for Mr. Hess is deadly quick with the blade when ones back is turned.
The people of Poland wish to warn those nations who choose to strike a deal with the devil in Berlin that you should expect to ultimately be betrayed. He has already seized control of nations who have declared neutrality, such as Belgium and the Netherlands, and there are reports that cities in other neutral nations are no longer able to defend themselves. The independent nation of Switzerland has been occupied; will Spain be next? Or will it be Sweden, or Turkey?
How long will it take before his greedy eyes turn toward the glorious cities of Italy, or the production capacity and southern approach into Russia from Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania? You sacrifice your young men fighting to protect the southern flank of Germany while the citizens of peaceful nations in the North are slaughtered. We ask you to consider what
your fate will be once the current fronts stabilize and the murderering Nazis go looking for yet another nation to molest. Perhaps you should look more at guarding your German borders than your others.
Do not make the same mistake that Poland made in believing the words of Hess. If you make a deal with the devil, you will always lose your soul.
